There is only one point of no return in chapter 12 and the game makes it very clear where it is.

How many chapters in total?

Now all I have to do is throw the ring into that lava there and the eagles will pick me up.

I just got him a little while. So you're saying I should have him in my party often?

Got my second skell, the inferno. Seems less powerful than the original skell they give you?

So I've been playing the fuck out of this game recentely and loving it.

Overall it has surpassed the original Xeno Wii by spades now. The freedom is so liberating, it's probably the biggest and best openworld I've experienced. The controls for everything are so smooth. The camera is superb, if you are out in the open in a cutscene try zooming the camera all of the way out then all of the way in. Wish more games let you go to such extremes. The controls for everything is so natural and the movement and physics of everything makes exploring just a joy. I love the way the environment is set up with some asshole creatures, but you can stealth about and run past to areas without asshole beasts, whilst still exploring. The way the skells are set up is perfect (except for the insurance dealio - I just save before hard battles instead). Introducing the skell to you after chapter 6 then giving you the ability to fly after chapter 9.

Soooo good. You get that amazing scale and size of the game on foot, then you driving about and are jumping about mountains like The Hulk. Then you are given a flight pack and it's like an angel getting its wings. The open world is just soooo good. Everything is so smooth and seamless.

I have run into a couple of problems though. Firstly not having characters level up with you means you have to do some missions with underlevelled guests. So I had Doug and just had him on the team all the time. But some affinity missions make you use guests so that doesn't help. And then Doug just goes and disappears randomly and I had to level up Fry from a 20 to a 38 in a cave of high level beasts. Thankfully skells balance things out and even with two skells and two on foot you can take down most prey even a couple of levels above you.

The Gathering missions are ASS. With no direction indicators I have just ditched them all.

As for the affinity missions there are some which will not let you accept them unless you accept a specific basic mission. And I already abandoned those gathering missions and they wont come back on the board. And the heart to hearts need to be organised and sorted better. I come across heart to hearts that cannot be triggered unless you have done the one before and there is no directions as to where the previous  ones were or are.

Yeah the game is pretty awesome and quite a joy to explore.

I always use Lin and Elma and switch out the fourth member to who ever I may need for missions at the time. Having the one person low level hasn't been an issue for me because fighting enemies on par with my three mains level out the fourth person very quickly. My three mains have shells and I just leave the fourth on foot until he levels up close to the others. They'll typically die pretty often until then but I can still easily handle the battles regardless.

I don't mind the gathering missions myself but then again I'm always running around picking up those collectibles anyway so I have tons of them and just pick those missions when I basically already have them done. I have 100% in Primordia, Oblivia, and Noctilum, and 98% in Sylvalum and 86% in Calduros.

The mission board will put up new missions randomly so if you don't get one you're looking for just go back and check again.

The heart to hearts are located by people with the smiley face bubble so you may have to run around and locate some of those people you may have t

Yes I have held off a third skell because I don't want to be too powerful

It's pretty easy to level up your guest with smells.

Oh yeah GG, were you aware that there are different gathering missions? The ones that ask for one item are typically a specific item that only appear when you accept the mission. They point to the location to find the item and it is just like the blue crystal things you pick up when running around only the crystal will be red.

There are ones where you need to get items that are collected from defeating enemies. These items can be easily obtained in the Blade Barracks at the Network Console where you can exchange Reward Tickets for these items.

The last one is of course just picking up those blue crystals.

I didn't know about the network console ones. I tried before but couldn't find the items I needed I guess because they were standard blue ones. I still haven't quite worked out the gem crafting and placement.
