I understand where all you guys are coming from. Sounds reasonable. No argument here.

And GG, you sold yours? Sad  *sigh* I would've kept it! I actually got it from my bro as well and loved it ever since! And I was a huge DS fanboy too. I use to go around claiming DS was the better handheld but I knew deep inside, there were so many good things the PSP had that I wanted to play. And when I finally got one (by luck, because I wasn't expecting to get one because I had no money at the time), I was very happy!

But I do admit, the PSP had a pretty rough start. But now things have picked up with good games coming for it. Sure consoles are always better but I love playing these games on a handheld.

It's relaxing on lonely weekends or sleepless nights when I just want to lay down and enjoy a game.

i'm also very happy to have the psp 1000 and a white one at that.  i still think it's the best version of the machine.

Out of curiousity, why? Just the color or are there other reasons?

Because it's sexy!

I wanted a white DSi instead of the black or ugly light blue.

just a few minor reasons.  the colour is definitely a huge part of it (i made the decision to get it once the white version was made available in europe).  i think it looks extremely sleek.  also like how the back of the 1000 model is matte plastic as opposed to glossy like the 2000 & 3000 (i think it's nicer to hold).  and the UMD loading thing has a nice spring loaded mechanism as opposed to just throwing it and snapping it shut like the 2000

My bro told me to sell it for him, but I was going to keep it. Then I realised that I pretty much wouldn't use it so much. I think UMDs i.e watching movies on the go is the most useless thing ever. Its a nice concept that no one in practicality wants.

I think PSP Go is a natural evolution, downloadable games. I think that more portable type games are needed like really good 2-D ones. They should look to the SNES or gba and get like amazingly fun, quick fire 2-D platformers or shooters. But you get to a certain point in a machines life cycle and its hard to turn things around perception wise. PSP is doing very well in sales 50 million + I think?

Sony are doing the right thing bringing a larger focus onto it now, shame it wasn't there at the start though.
