In terms of games I'd say Half Life 2. The return of Gordon Freeman was like the second coming of Jesus.
I'd also have to say SMG. After the average launch of games for the Wii, SMG was a total shock.
Right now I'm hyped for Jumpgate Evolution, Mass Effect 2, Diablo 3, Lego Universe, No More Heroes 2, S&P2, Mario Galaxy 2 and whatever the new Zelda will be.

Well I picked up two games I was very hyped for today, Forza 3 and Tekken 6...I'll be very nterested in what you have to say about Tekken 6 Arch.
I'm really enjoying it so far. The Scenario mode is like an improved Tekken Force. It feels much like a beat 'em up with a slight RPG feel to it. You can smash crates to get items, fight against many foes, pick up weapons to use like a flamethrower, gatling gun, and steel pipe, and each stages ends with a boss fight against a Tekken fighter. It's still a bit clumsy and it started out kind of boring with some lengthy and lackluster cutscenes but it's a pretty long game in itself and moves along much better after the first bit. It's pretty enjoyable.
I've played about 35 online matches and mostly there was some serious lag but I did have about 5 matches that played out very smoothly and they were great. Hopefully they fix it soon because when it works it's a lot of fun.
There's a ton of stuff to unlock and quite a wide range of modes so I still have a fair amount to dig into. There's also an excellent number of characters in the game which is great. Excellent stuff so far and will likely be my favourite in the series. Very solid game.

(Wow its soo fucking easy to bold and underline stuff here!)
This is being labeled as a spiritual succesor to Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows Of Amn, one of my all time favorite games. I have had the collectors edition preordered now for longer than GG has been a virgin (!) and I can't wait for it. I love the style and character development of Biowares titles, they are second to none for storytelling and character development.
Thats one of those games that I think I am just afraid to get into. I loved KOTOR, liked Jade Empire, I know I would like Mass Effect, so I like the company. This game seems too PC for me, I'm scared that I will not like it. But I guess I should try it right.
I would say rent it first to see if you like it. Its not going to be as hard to get into as you think. Besides if you can handle demons souls than this one will be a cakewalk. And it WILL have one of the best stories and character developments of the generation just because of who the developer is.
I'll be very nterested in what you have to say about Tekken 6 Arch.
