I dont like parellel parking as well because you always do it on a main road and there are people waiting behind you. Unless there is a good distance between the you and the car behind you can end up indicating, breaking then finding the row of cars behind you is too close to reverse. Argh!

That's crazy man. I guess it's all about where you learnt to drive. Living in LA there is NO parallel parking at all (but if you are from San Francisco that's all they have).

Yeah I'm glad I learned to drive back at home (small town) so it was easy to practice without wankers in SUVs trying to ram you just for slowing down.

everywhere i went to in SF cars were parked at right angles to the road (probably to avoid many instances of them going downhill) which i thought was a great idea (if you can make the roads wide enough).

also did you guys ever see those cars like the mercedes A & B Class which parallel park themselves?  pretty impressive though i don't know i'd trust it personally

I actually saw the Lexus version at a car show demonstrating it. It was both cool and creepy at the same time .

80MPH?  That runs very contrary to your "I am not a speed guy" line, unless the speed limit gets perpetually higher the further you go south.

Crazy southerners.  Here within city limits 50km/h, elsewhere 80km/h (400 series highways an exception at 100km/h)

At least Vader has good roads, over here we enter highways fearing for our lives, not knowing if we are going to find a huge hole at 100 km/h that will mean the end of our mortal existence.
