I just finished watching Luke Cage. The second half of the season is overall a lot better I think than the first half, and I am glad that I sat down and finished watching it. It still suffers from being stretched out longer than it needs to be. That's problem that a lot of the Marvel shows, as well as many other one-season story shows like American Horror Story and True Detective suffer from. I guess there is a lot more money to be made from a 13-episode show then there is from an eight episode show.

I'm wathcing The Crown -- it's slightly better than average. And Aussie drama Offspring, which is watchabel, but not edifying.

All Ice Pilots and Black Mirror.  Black Mirror is FMAwesome!

I started watching Longmire this weekend. It's good, but I don't quite get the fuss about it. If anything it just feels like a dude version of Murder She Wrote.

After about a half dozen episodes though I noticed the final season of Hell on Wheels is available to watch, so that's probably where I'll be getting my fill of Westerns for a while.

It's on the list but I need to be in the right frame of mind for a show like that.

No series currently I'm trying to clear up the list of movies I had in my queue. I didn't watch them originally because I used the Wii U for Netflix.

I now get it through my cable provider so I can watch Netflix in my bedroom now.

I kid you not, that is what I verbalized after watching the first episode.

I have a buddy who really likes to consider himself a man's man. He professes an undying love for John Wayne and how good things used to be, you know. He was a huge fan of this, and really insisted that I watch it. And now all I can thing is, "you want to be Angela Landsbury."

The parallels really are striking though. It's an older person solving mysteries in a rural location that shouldn't be seeing anywhere near this much crime. I'm fairly sure some of the plots were borrowed from it too.

That said I used to really like Murder She Wrote too.

I finished the OA - complete pile o shit.

Finished Designated Survivor. It's like 24 in reverse. Sutherland is President now, otherwise its much the same. So good stuff.

Designated Survivor is my favorite new fall show. It's so weird not having him be the badass but he is so damn good as the best president ever.

Season five has one of the best arcs with the Michael Scott paper company.  The payoff episode is an all time classic.

I forget how far I got last time I watched it on Netflix I think I made it to Season 7 but that was when Season 8 was the current season.

When I was a young kid I did as well. There is a whole sub-genre of Australian and UK series that fill this as well, which thee days I don't have time for, but htey are so much better than MSW and the like.

I classify this genre as being for dumb people who like to feel smart because they figure out the murder before the protagonist. But in fairness to dumb people, that's most movies/ TV.

Nearly finished with Shooter season 1.

Not a bad show although the plot is pretty standard.
