I just watched the 3DS montage - 3DS game montage footage! worth looking at if you haven't done so yet.

  • Kid Icarus looks absolutely bad ass. Great launch title.
  • I could give a rat's ass about Nintendogs and Cats. My kids will love it, but I have no interest.  I'm not the target audience though so Nintendo probably doesn't care.
  • Super Street Fighter 4 3D looks good. Though I'm a little weary. I've never really gotten the hang of fighting games on a handheld. THat's one genre that I think just doesn't quite work when your screen isn't 100% stable.
  • RE Revelations looks fantastic. Want!
  • Not sure what I think about Mercenaries as a big game. I admit it's a perfect handheld game and no doubt it'll be fun. But it sort of falls into the category of "how much fun is an old game with 3D?"
  • Samuarai Chronicles... not sure what that is.  Not interested though. Likewise, Dead or Alive: Dimensions and the baseball game don't do anything for me.
  • Snake Eater looks pretty cool. Never got to play it on the PS2 but it was the one MGS game that always piqued my interest. That's a maybe.
  • Paper Mario? Hmmmmm I dunno.
  • Pilot Wings looks great. Anything on Wu-hu Island is now worth consideration.
  • New Mario Kart will undoubtably be fun. Looks better than Mario Kart Wii in fact.
  • What is this Chocobo racing?? Another Crystal Chronicles game? Damn that looks really rough. Looks like a current DS game. Pass.
  • Monkey Ball. Could be cool with the gyrascope, but probably gets old after 15 minutes. Racing game - once again not interested.
  • Professor Layton will be great!
  • Am I a bad person for not giving a rat's ass about anything having to do with Star Fox?
  • Steel Diver? Better be a downloadable game.
  • Animal Crossing... out of respect to the AC fans I'll just say nothing.
  • Ocarina of Time... hell it's always a classic.

Nothing moved me.  I was impressed by the tech, I was impressed by the breadth of games available, but there was nothing I'm interested in.

Except perhaps Animal Crossing -- and what were you going to say about it that we have not already said -- that it's the same game AGAIN? (Mr Harvest Moon) Nyaa

If I enjoyed flight games I'd be all for Star Fox.  But I'm not.

When I think of handhelds I think RPG, so clearly there was nothing for me.  I'm now more afraid that we'll get current gen RPG's and not the old-style that the handhelds have kept alive up until now.  I am hoping that Betheseda brings over their cancelled PSP Oblivion project pretty fast -- I can see WRPG's working on it.

But all in all -- none of the games speak to me.

The RE and MGS games look too good to be true. I hope the 3DS can handle that, but the graphics for them look twice as good as even the first party titles. I wouldn't mind repurchasing a 3D Ocarina of Time.

Yeah, but Coop, this is just the same port garbage that happened to the PSP.  There are games that are just better played on a console with two dual sticks.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Mega Man Legends games. I think the most notable thing that came out of them was seeing Mega Man not wearing a helment.

No, no. Nothing like that. More along the lines of "why do people enjoy a game, where the main feature is WALKING? Walking to the neighbors, walking to town, walking back home. It's the walking game!" But I out of respect to the fans of it, I didn't say that.

I hated that I had to walk because running wore down my grass and snow. I used to run like a madman everywhere.

And the main feature isn't walking. It's the interior decoration aspect. : P

I am hoping Capcom gets the RE4 formula out of their system with this, I want RE6 to be something different. The 3D aspect at least makes the ports some what interesting.

But it's now in stunning 3D.

And it wont cost you thousands of dollars to buy a new TV.

Chronicles was one of the worst looking games I saw in the 3DS reel and pics.

On Animal Crossing, I'm pretty worried that it just has the same old furniture there. But if its like City folk there will be lots of new items and stuff. And the whole portable aspect of having a living town in your pocket will sing in 3D. It's a little embarrasing that its visuals are better than the Wii game though.

The MGS 3 game looks great and Holy Shit, I wasn't expecting a RE game like that.  Zelda and Paper Mario are wins also, but $300 is too steep.  It'll have to wait for now.  I've never payed that much for a console, much less a handheld.

Wired etc say that the japanese price wont translate to $300. Maybe $250.
