I was born right after SW ended so to me these movies are the greatest films of my lifetime. I never really thought of bow I would rank each one though, after seeing them so close together I still say the last one is the best with fellowship second and towers last.
After watching all three EE versions, I couldn't ever go back to the theatrical ones. They do add a lot to the overall experience.

Yeah they are fantastic. I love having a glimpse into the world of editing, I know exactly where scenes were added so I can compare how the movie worked with them and without them. It's amazing how many small things get referrenced which were originally cut out. Like faramir's line " time for faramir to show his quality" had no context on the original film, in EE you see it's a reference to the struggle he has with his father. Makes me wonder how many movies have lines or scenes that would be different if they included cut scenes. That said he did a good job cutting the theatrical versions.
Just saw Cowboys and Aliens, meh. Its a totally average summer movie, nothing really stands out. Craig is cool, Ford is awesome but the story is pretty simple and the action is very standard stuff.
I just finished watching the Millenium trilogy based on the books by Stieg Larsson. They are just fucking incredible! The movies were never predictable, always suspenseful with two protagonists that I cared for and loved. I just love how everything fits together nicely at the end of the third movie. If you haven't seen these movies, I strongly recommend checking them out on Netflix streaming. There's nothing as exhilirating than watching a movie, totally clueless, and finishing knowing you've watched something totally kick ass.
Hollywood is gonna fuck up the remakes, I know it.

Thank God for people like you Travo. Tell this to Vader
See Guys, I said they were good. The first was the best I think, I like how the 3rd film because a court case.
Oh, the ending of the 3rd film, when they just kinda say "Hey" then leave, just perfect.

I liked that too, though I was hoping for more conversation. Yeah. the first is definitely the best. It was somewhat odd that the third became a court case, but even though it was light on action, it was still suspenseful. Lisbeth rocks!
I did miss that Micke and Lisbeth didn't really team up together to solve a case in the second and third movies.

Yeah I would have liked that too, but it still worked very well regardless. From the reviews I saw, the second and third movies weren't as well received as the first, but personally I found the sequels suprisingly good and consistent.
Ok I watched the first episode. I haven't watched that many Ghibli films to make some sort of comparison. They nailed two things, at least, from the very few Ghibli stuff I've seen: 1. I don't understand what the shit is going on. 2. There are weird amorphous creatures everywhere.

I never said they were bad, I just said I rather watch the Daniel Craig, David Fincher version cause that combination sounds AWESOME.

I didn't mean to infer you thought they were bad, just that it's nice to see people who go out of the way to watch the original versions.
Like Infernal Affairs 1 and 2, instead of the Departed and the upcoming sequel.

They are making a Departed sequel, yes!!!
I do want to see those versions. In fact I just saw that Millenium is on Netflix so I will watch them cause i wonder what this whole thing is about.
There's plenty of explicit sex in the first two movies so if you don't want that creepy feeling, don't watch them with family.
I just watched Captain America. Best comic book movie this year, and thank god it was because even as a comic fan I'm burned out on them. Still it doesn't quite make my top 10 of all time. My only real complaint is Chris Evans was just kind of bland. Not bad, just kind of.... there. I think that's more of a script thing. Only a few writers have ever been able to make Steve Rogers more than just a boy scout. Maybe I'll give it a second go around when its out on video to see if its any better. Still, I give it a B.
