Lost was amazing. A few characters, like Ecko, were killed because he wanted off the show. Others, like Nikki and Paolo, were supposed to have bigger storylines, but were universally hated. Others were killed for the shock effect, like Ana Lucia, though I believe the producers wanted her off the show because of her DUI arrest.
There's also a fifteen minute epilogue that explains the Hurley bird, the drop shipments of food and WALLLTTT! Yep, everything actually is explained. Lost is one great show.
I saw that epilogue bit, it was funny. Ecko wanted off the show? What a dilrod. My biggest problem with the show was that it seemed to build up a few characters only to do nothing with them like the ones you mentioned above. And then you had characters will no real attachment or purpose in the show like the pilot who was just there to fly the damn plane.
But still, Lost is in my top 5 TV shows of all time.
Just saw this. It was a pile of meh.
Half blood prince the movie sucked because the book sucked. They don't have that excuse this time. I feel sorry for people who haven't read the books, as this movie throws tons of unexplained crap your way and you have no chance of remembering who did what and why. But its just a boring and depressing 2 and a half hour movie.
Warner Bros got greedy and decided to stretch this last book out to a 2 part film and it has hurt the movie. It's all boring preamble.

I don't think the pilot was supposed to play a significant part. Greg Grunberg, was an JJ Abrams alum from back in the ALIAS days. Great character actor. If you ever play LA NOIRE, you'll see a cameo from him. I cracked up when he first appeared.
Yeah I like the actor, just they didn't do anything with him at all really. He had no personal stake in what was happening and was just an outsider there to fly the plane out.
I saw this the other day. Did not like it. It's not like Zhang Yimous wuxia films at all. It's based on a Coen Brothers film and it feels like a Coen Brothers film i.e slow, boring and too simple in plot. I only like the funny Coen Brothers films like Raising Arizona, the other ones I find are like this film - or No Country for Old Men. Just too slow, too simple and too boring.
This movie has a small cast, is set in like a desert outpost noodle shop. It has a couple of characters all looking to get rich and kill others and people being killed by mistake or other rubbish and its just not worth watching.
Guys you have too see Half Past Dead.
It is worth your time, for goodness sake you get to see Ja Rule drop-kicked by a girl.
And Master Seagal has the same awsome acting he always has.
And Steel plays an awesome warden that speaks English and the suddenly Spanish. Why? Because he is badass that's why.

Unfortunately, I think I have seen it already.

Jack's dad being the mastermind, I was sorta right
I saw Tangled.
There is nothing original in the film, that's the bad out of the way, but the rest is all good. It's classic Disney in the sense that it still has a lot of musical numbers done by Alan Menken. I could have done with more plot and less singing but it still manages to be an entertaining film throughout. It's fun, sort of a Shrek like atmosphere, maybe missing that darker comedic edge but not by much. There is a hilarious police horse that tracks the male lead. Very entertaining stuff, very watchable.

He wasn't a mastermind of anything. Huh?

Jack's dad on the island was really the man in black, sort of the mastermind.
Very good film, I was going to say best serial killer movie since Seven but I should say best serial killer movie since Memories of Murder.
I saw the Devil is a very violent movie - I am used to violence in film and I know about prostetics and make up etc but there are still parts of this which make me wince. It's a really tense movie that has electric performances from the two male leads, I am sure you will know Choi Min Sik who plays Oh Daesu in Oldboy and Lee Byun Hyun who was in The Good the Bad and the Weird and Lost Planet the game.
The film is directed by Kim Jee Woon and is probably his best film yet. I thouroughly reccomend this film but you need a strong stomach.
KJWoon has directed the Foul King, A Tale of Two Sisters, A Bittersweet Life, The Good the Bad and the Weird and I Saw the Devil
I got Ponyo on Bluray and witnessed some of the English dub. If you have watched this film in english I feel sorry for you - it's completely a bastard version. Let's start with the fact that Liam Neeson sucks as the father character, that Matt Damon has like one throwaway line in the whole movie, let's go onto the fact that the two kids voices are the most annoying ever heard. Tina Fey is allright.
Okay so lets accept that the voice acting sucks.
Beyond that, this is a bastard version. They completely changed the script.
Yeah that's right, the english translaters didn't just translate it, they embelished and overbloated and changed meaning practically throughout the whole film. If you have the dvd you can do a simple experiment. Watch with subtitles and have the english audio - the subtitles are true to the japanese version and you can see how far the english voice acting goes off script. There are some cases where the subtitles are completely different to what is being said on screen. In one part Souske says "But I want to eat at home" in the true japanese subtitles and what the english voice acting says at this moment is "But what if Ponyo comes back?"
And it happens through the whole movie - subtle meaning and economy of words becomes an overbloated mess and the kids seem so much more whiney and annoying too.
Saw the Warriors Way
It's a rental at best. The best thing I can say about it is that it's watchable. Far too much CGI makes it look a bit like Cashern or Goemon. Don't know what Geoffry Rush is doing here. The sword play has some decent choreography sort of like 300 but there is so much distracting cgi you can't appreciate it. Story is fairly meh, just as excuse for some fights.
I just saw Confessions. And I'm still in shock.
Wow....... just....... wow that is a dark and powerful movie. I'll edit this post later to tell you why.
I watched Mad Max 2, which is The Road Warrior to the rest of the world. It was essentially the first time I had seen it, I probably saw it as a kid.
It's 30 years old, and man, does it hold up as an action film. No CGI of course, so it still looks great, the pacing is good and very little dialogue.
Must watch for a gamer.

So that's why they're not in her eyes...
It's the best finale ever because we got Jackface from it.
