Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I find sans serif easier full stop.

I'm not passionate about it, but I do know that the little feet does make character recognition easier (faster).

Yoda, do we have a bigger plan? Like how we used to want to be like a newspaper. Is there a plan to where we are going, or is this just to improve the readability of the forums?

Yes, the theme is "We are awesome"

Oh, and I thought of the perfect slogan...

The VG Press: It is the spice of the life

Press On or Press Hard, I like.  "Pressing Harder since 2008" - jk.

Looks great yoda. Pay no attention to GG, Punk and Iga. Especially Iga.

I'm looking to get this out earlier than expected, because the improvement is so dramatic, it's depressing every day it's incomplete.  Expect it launched this weekend.

Updated, though the blogs on GG Weekly is a stopgap solution.

Looks fantastic. Though borders are a lot less clear. Perhaps if they were white instead of black?

A couple of things, on the update page the words are black on a black background. If I didn't already know the layout I wouldn't be able to see what each box was.

I think its better to have a full toolbar with forums listed as oppossed to drop down menus.

Colour wise the news updates are really far too dark and I'm not sure but the gold stories are black now? It's all too grim. Otherwise, the comments colours and font choices are all quite nice although I do prefer something brigther for my eyes. Will there be a skins option?

For longer posts the new font is a lot more laborious for me to read... I think it's because it's too thick.

Nope. I like the comments section now, nice.

I mean the background colours for the updates. Black instead of gold? Maroon instead of red? Dark blue? It's all wrong, too dark by far. The colours should match the company colours and stand out.

Do you have the font Calibri or Trebuchet MS installed?  Just wanting to gauge with which font you're having an issue.  The order of fonts used are:

Calibri, Trebuchet MS, DejaVu Sans, sans-serif

Calibri, I think.

Couple of issues. When I tried to type a blog response I had invisible writing. And on the news updates the boxs descriptions were black and black. When they should be interracial so I can see them.

Well after using the new VGPress for some time now, these are my comments so far.

But before I go on, I want to say that I like the redesign. I really like it, but there are a few issues I have found.

Things that are difficult to see

  • When adding updates the confirmation is shown in a pink bar with white letters. You can hardly see it.
  • When searching news the results are dark blue on dark glay. You can hardly see it
  • The same problem with hyperlinks, darkblue, can hardly been seen
  • The submit button of the Add Link and Add Image is hardly visible

Things that need to be changed

  • Places should be replaced by Home, GGweekly, Forum and Press room. This would make the site navigation much more easier and faster. There is enough room to put it there
  • Search function for Forum and Comments should be added. Especially forum.
  • there should be a page indicator in the forum, it is not clear what page you are on!
  • The forum page is missing the > and < buttons, so you can go one page forward or backward.
  • Page number buttons also at the bottom of the forum screen, so you do not have to scroll up if you want to change pages while you happen to be at the bottom.
  • Delete button, to delete your own post

Aestetical changes

  • I really like the GGweekly colours, but the scroll bars look ugly and out of place. Need something that fits the colour sceme more.
  • I really like the logo, it looks very profesional, but the upper and lower bar look more 'amateuristic'. Maybe a change of colour or getting rid of the sawteeth pattern might do it. But I do not really know what is best here!

This are all the problems I have found, some might be nitpicky, but I wrote them down anyways! Hope it helps.

There is actually not room to separate out Places; not for 1024x768 resolutions, at least.  Significant time was spent on that portion of the layout, and that resulted as the best balance between usability and design.  Better solutions are welcome, but I'd need to see a mockup.

Colour schemes for scrollbars is proprietary to Internet Explorer.

The last point I'll chalk up to taste.  A cop-out, perhaps, but one I'm willing to take.

The rest is mostly known and just a matter of time available to do it.
