I just bought a brand new PS2 off Amazon....tired of not having access to the physical libraries of PS1 and PS2.

But wait you never owned a PS? NOT ONE?! Thats crazy! So what haven't you played? Did you ever play FFVII? MGS? GT? RE? You have never played a Ratchet game? A Crash game? SotC?

Jesus, how can you not remember these things. indecision I played through the entirety of MGS1 on PS and at a friends played Ridge Racer, Wipeout, Silent Hill for a couple of hours each. I picked up RE 1, 2, 3, CV on Dreamcast.

BTW I love old games, where are you getting this I dont like old games thing from.

You are constantly talking about how much better things are now and how standards have changed, then you typically review HD era games as being better than the old games you go back and play. Not unsuprising. But you haven't liked the last two old games you have played so I was hoping for a hatrick.

How can you guys not remember these things - here's another - my 360 is not hooked up to the internet.

I would have bought a PS3 if it wasn't obscenely expensive and if it didn't cut backwards compatibility in Europe. I would have played a ton of PS2 games too. I have a strict 2 consoles + 1 handheld per gen policy. 360 came down to the right price and Oblivion and Gears came out. Deal done. Also Sony never changed that abhorent Dualshock controller.

I need to brush up on my GG history lessons. Nyaa So you never played FFVII then?

As for old games, yeah I think games are better now, doesnt mean I dont like the past. As for HD, as you know certain non HD games look like ass on an HD set, has nothing to do with the graphics just the resolution.

I remember the 360 thing cause we want to play with you and you refuse. Nyaa (though I wouldnt pay for Live either if I were you)

I should clarify D, I don't mean to say you don't like old games but that you are less likely to like older games because of the dated mechanics and graphics. Based on you saying that it's hard to look at older graphics, HDTVs etc and how mechanics are more polished these days. That's all.

Like most people I loved cutscenes and voice acting back then. Slightly ridiculous but very fun. As for the game itself I was an N64 owner so compared the game to things like OOT and Perfect Dark so the actual gameplay, graphics and design of MGS were some what lacking. So I jumped at the chance to get the better graphics version on GC and enjoyed it more. Then I began comparing it to Splinter Cell and in comparison the controls and gameplay systems were ass backwards. But the game still charms you in a quirky and very japanese anime action movie sort of way. The Eco-message is rammed down your throat a bit too much.

Another fun fact:

I play my 360 less than I should because of neck pain. That's right. I set it up in my room because I thought it would allow me to play as much as I wanted without hogging the main tv. Instead over a few years I found that it became increasingly painful to turn my head to the side to see the screen. Alternatively I can try and sit upright in the middle of the bed and lean against the wall - great for increasing back pain. Medication only does so much. yes

EDIT: I can play a portable in bed because my head and neck are straight on and I am lying straight.

Sleeping Dogs is pretty damn awesome. Everything about it is well done, especially the mix of melee combat brown into the GTA formula. I honk I am most surprised at how good and interesting the story is, I really can't wait to see where it goes. Missions are fun, driving feels great, very well done gam. I would say the city and general setting is missing the magic GTA games have. I don't feel like I can have fun just screwing around like I can in a GTA game. Other than that this game can hang with the best of the genre.

Well Yakuza 2 won the vote but due to the similarities of Sleeping Dogs and Yakuza I am going to delay playing it. So we will have another vote, I am still a week away from finishing SD.

AND NOW SOMETHING COMPLETLY DIFFERENT

1. Fable 2

2. Game of Thrones ( I am in the mood. I dont care if it sucks.)

3. Silent Hill Homecoming

Isnt that a good game? Fable is one of the reasons I bought a 360, true story.

If that is punishment what is Fable 3? Nyaa

You should punish me with Game of Thrones. Pick that instead.

If you saw it earlier, I had Meat Boy on the list. i am removing it cause its short and I might as well play it as well. i can squeeze it in. So I will play Meat Boy and whatever you choose then play Yakuza 2.

I loved Fable on the original Xbox, but greatly disliked Fable 2. Bleh. So, of course, I vote for Fable 2. Nyaa

Such a split reaction on that game. I am very curious.
