I really enjoyed this week's show. I have not been fully absorbing all the U news and you both gave a good summary. Also enjoyable game impressions this week.
Foolz, I've given up on telling you how to pronouce Sega and Linux, but here are some others:
Y's is pronounced Ease
Andriasang is pronounced just as it is spelt (Andrea Sang). But you won't have to worry about that anymore
Thanks also for good sound quality and recording, really helps the editing.
I was going to end the show with Young MC's Principal's Office (for Silent Hill), but the thing I use for youtube conversion doesn't work anymore.
Listening nao:
- I knew what the numbers meant in the jap conference. We knew the specs for a while now on some things.
- 3DS XL in europe or japan doesn't come with a power cable.
- It uses the 3DS adaptor.
- In Japan they didn't get Wii Sports bundled.
- The drive is faster but with the additional RAM assuming they are going to push more detailed textures the loading will be a bit faster?
- TVii. Ehhhhhhhhhhh. I need some UK options here, none of this is availible in europe. Our conference didn't even mention it.
- We have BBC iplayer and Netflix apps here for Wii 1, wish they had a lovefilm app.
- Bayonetta 2 news, insane. But like NG3, I do not want these games. Give me Crysis 3 with IR or an adventure game.
- COD was never confirmed or hinted at but we saw dev c.vs who said they were working on it and release lists constantly had it listed.
- Transformers Prime is a wii 1 port.
- NSMBU looks good, could use even more mario world references though. Love how the HD makes the art pop. I think the touch screen platforms thing is multiplayer only to help player 1.
- Nintendo do not care about online - except for mario kart.
- I have to stop at 28mins
K Back
Oh crap the player will not let me skip ahead to 28mins.
I read that the Wii mode is like the GC mode on Wii. I hear that one of the cores in the CPU is more powerful than the other two. When the system goes into Wii 1 mode, it deactivates two of the cores, runs the single at a lower clock speed and basically becomes a Wii 1. They can do this because the CPU is referred to as an enhanced broadway (in API) but is still based on POWER7 IBM chips so it can be powerful and yet still work with wii 1 games too. It's quite clever.
Reggie said: You can use 3 TB external usb hard drives. It's cheaper and easier getting your own memory rather than buying some packed in with a hardware bundle. Check Amazon guys. If not you can still hook up 128gb SD Cards.
BTW, USB 2.0 data transfer rates are faster than your optical disc drive so you should not be worrying about running games off an external drive.
Dragonquest was in the Japanese 2nd conference, not much but it was there and famitsu had a write up. It looks about the same but we have only seen one screen which might be a mag mock up.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Console price equation, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Launch lineup, when we knew about the games before we were comparing it to current gen systems with 5 years of games behind it. When you actually go back and look at the launch lineups of past systems, the Wii U launch is actually pretty fantastic. I mean, Kameo, Ridge Racer 5, Resistance 1 etc?
Ahhhhhh, "Canadia is North America's little brother". Hugs all round!
Thanks for the great listen, Aspro too thanks for everything.
THanks for reminding me that there wasn't a mention of Dragon Quest X. God if they don't bring that game over I'm gonna be all kinds of pissed off.
Glad to hear that at least Vader enjoyed Double Dragon Neon. DD was the first arcade game I ever beat (thanks to the help of a much older adult who took pity on me and helped me out). The new changes sound good. If anything though it makes me think it's time for a new River City Ransom.

Reggie will let us have it after 2 years of begging.

I was on the podcast and I have no clue what you are talking about.

Yes, and I believe he's already downloaded it!
Idonohowtopronouncethatshit. But really, that's his full GS name.

Ah, okay. I only ever knew him as a random guy who couldn't listen to the podcast.
