My fave part starts at 1:19:25. Vader's disgust at my suggestion is awesome.

You should have to listen to my critique of Gears of War.

I was disgusted.
To my credit I did not realize I was going to be on until 5 minutes before I came on the podcast, but I should have know more about Intelligent Systems. They've made most of my favorite Nintendo Games.
Okay, this is something I've avoided mentioning before, you know, feigning legitimacy and all that, but it seems safe to say at this point. Giveaways like the one on the podcast now I've avoided to this point because of the result that we see now: there is no contest. The only contestants are our in-group. And putting ourselves in the contest then delegitimizes the contest.
So what's going to happen with this? Do we wait for the first person new to post about it? The next new member? Or raffle it off to somebody here?

None of the above: two people posted who are not actually on the podcast. That's enough for a coin toss! I can throw in at least one other unbiased contestent, but they didn't actually make it to posting here.
Or you could send me $10, and I'll give it to you.
Screw the flattery, let's just go right into the comments:
Reasons unmentoined? Powder coating research?
I think it’s called quarantine, Aspro.
“We don’t have anything in the desert”
You claim to be in Australia. You’re telling a kangaroo story. Yet you’re implying you’re not in a desert?! I think this means you actually are in Australia.
Killzone 2 and Gears of War 2 are the same quality? Wtf. Gears of War must be even worse than I thought it would be.
Resident Evil 5 was well paced?!
Paper Mario Man? Never heard of it.
An 8 score back in the day isn’t bad. Lots of classics got 8s.
“It’s a kid’s game, but still challenging”
Clearly you haven’t played games designed for children. They're usually broken, impossible pieces of crap.
This is where you’re going wrong: it’s shouldn’t be okay for children to enjoy The Wiggles and their ilk. The Wiggles suck. If you enjoy it as a child, you’re just as much of a dick as if you enjoy it as an adult.
The same applies for all the shit designed for adults that children are unlikely to enjoy due to not being a part of adult culture; once again, just because you’re an adult, it’s not acceptable to like shit just because you are its target audience.
The Old Testament is awesome. It’s basically a collection of exploitation poetry.
“This is terrible.”
“The Love Boat.”
Now that is terrible.
You stole that Isaac line from Family Guy, Aspro!
“Shock jockery at its worst”
Says the guy stealing family guy jokes!
“This generation ain’t doing too well.”
It’s 12 years old!
Consoles have pretty much the same hardware components you listed.
“The UN gaming population is shrinking.”
That's because Kofi isn't there anymore. He was a massive Sony fanboy.
It’s always more special for your own generation
Interface is the reason for Scribblenauts crossover, people! Obviously: you can easily type with the pad; you can easily type with a keyboard.
“He’s gone baku baku baku to the wall!”
MGS discussion needed, Edge, me or GG.
If Mercenaries 2 is anything like the first one (and going by the scores it’s not) then it’s nothing like MGS!
G4 music should have been violins.
Ending with the Sessler hate of course.

What's the Family Guy thing? I don't watch it.

One of their non-sequiturs features Abraham Lincoln killing Isaac from The Love Boat as commanded by God.
RE5 isnt well paced?! Not as well as RE4 of course but RE5 always kept the gameplay interesting with new interesting setpieces every step of the way.

But that's kinda the problem with it: it's literally setpiece after setpiece, perhaps sometimes interrupted by puzzles. There is no sense of pacing like there was in RE4, it's just a poorly thrown together collage.

And what is RE4 if not setpiece after setpiece? I understand the ones in RE5 are much bigger which kind of makes them a bit more unfocused but its still the same exact kind of game.

It's the exact kind of game, but done badly. In RE4 there were lots of tense moments that were not set pieces where you were either creeping through an area where there were no enemies, or moving through an area with a handful of them, not a massive craptonne like the set pieces. RE5 does have those moments, but for like 5 seconds so they're just boring, rather than tense and you just want to move on to the next set piece, and they're not very thoughtfully placed. The cutscense are poorly paced too, often shoved in where in RE4 you would have had a major set piece. Then these random cutscenes are followed by one of the slower sections when it seemed as if it was leading up to a boss battle or something...oh wait, the boss battle follows the slower section after the momentum that was building was lost by the cutscene!
So yeah, the point is that RE5 attempts to copy RE4's pacing, and while it follows the same principles, it does them terribly. At least compared to RE4. Not compared to RE4 the pacing is probably mediocre rather than straight up bad.
