Just checked my collection, I was thinking of volume 4 issues 1-14 with the Communion and Revelation stories. That was pants. I don't  have requium. Thanks for the recommendation.

Read this.

Story is nothing groundbreaking or anything, but as an exercise in seeing some of my all time favourite characters come together in one comic it was well worth it.

Silver Surfer kicked Orions ASS though, I wonder how they work out between the companies who is more powerful etc?

I also felt like JLA + Wildcats was skewed towards JLA too much with them wiping the floor with the Wildcats.

Also read:

Read it before a loooong time ago, still good to revisit.

I read Silver Surfer Requim Robio.

Didn't really like it much. I kept thinking through issues 1-3: Galactus, Galactus, Galactus.

That should have been the very obvious elephant in the room. Then the last issue was like Princess Diana's funeral. It doesn't help that I saw All Star Superman a couple of days back which has a similar subject matter but done much better. I think I might pick that up in tpb form.

Also read Silver Surfer in Thy Name, pretty much a re-run of old concepts I have seen in SS before. Nothing great. I get the impression that these writers are doing their versions of old SS stories and concepts and it's just not cutting it. They are a bit too lofty and worthy and noble. They need to get back to him travelling the cosmos and kicking some ass too.

I just read the Star Masters

It's a pretty good limited series. Strangely it is Star Masters 1-3 and then the story is finished in Cosmic Powers Unlimited 4 and 5.

This is how I like the Silver Surfer portrayed and I guess because this series was during my comic book era, the mid nineties. He is'nt just some worthy po-faced boring non-entity. He is the straight guy and is bolstered by more involved and comical characters who are somewhat awed by the things he can do.

So the plot is that an interstellar U.N (The Charter) comes to earth to invite membership, then everyone on board is murdered and Quasar is blamed. He is innocent but the Charter then send a weapon to destroy the earth which Beta Ray Bill, the Silver Surfer and Quasar have to deal with as well as some Cosmic Commandos to fight. Nice artwork and a decent plot with some decent action too.

Sorry you didn't like it. Thought you would. Most fans of the character seem to. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

Didn't like it much, it's too piecemeal and 70s

I just finished this:

It was pretty good.  I like campaign insider books, usually there are 2-3 each campaign which I get and read, but this comic book style was something new.  It did a good job of capturing every "tick-rock" of the campaign.

That looks pretty cool^

I am 5 issues into the 70s Marvel Celstial Madonna Saga in the Avengers.

I have to say, after reading the Kree Skrull war, Secret empire, lots of 70s spiderman and now 70s avengers, I think the bronze age is pretty sucky at times. There is some great stuff but mostly it doesn't flow well and seems to try too hard to bring about an inprobable shock each issue.

So I got a Marvel Encyclopedia recently, seems I've missed a shitload of things. So it seems Secret Invasion and Civil War are big events? Essential reading and the aftermath of World War Hulk. Reading some of this shit is inbelievable, the comics are as far ahead of the cartoons as the cartoons are far ahead of the movies. Steve Rodgers was killed and flipping Bucky became the new Captain America! The Abomination was shot and killed by the Red Hulk? Rick became a new Abomination? Betty died? Jean Grey didn't really die as the Phoenix, Cyclops marrier a Jean Clone then the real Jean comes back, he marries her and then she dies for real?

Also what is this I read anout the Illuminati, gathering the Infinity Gems?

Fooling around with my daughter's ipad, I found this neat app that lets you buy digital comics, as soon as they're released in print. They also have a shitload of stuff, complete arcs and stories as well as the current stuff going on. I was going to get GTA V this weekend but my living room TV seems to be failing so I gotta take it to repairs first. I might use that GTA money instead to get a few essentials like TDKR and Kingdom Come.

And OMG there's a Dark Horse comics app! THAT MEANS CONAN! CONAN! Savage Sword of Conan, 14 mammoth sized books with 500+ pages each!

I will sell all of your souls for those.

Finished reading the Celestial Madonna saga, Marvel early 70s where Kang tries to abduct Mantis the CMadonna. Mantis eventually marries a tree. It shows the origin story of the Kree and Skrull which is fun but otherwise it's pretty bunk.

Moved onto the Magus War, like this stuff, it showed how Adam Warlock met Gamora and Pip. And how Thanos intervened to stop the Magus in the future. Good stuff. Then moved onto the Eternals Saga volume 2 which was shown in the Thor series. Seems to be written by some new guy, not Kirby. Seems a little crapola compared to the first volume.

I'm starting to realise Jim Stalin is my favourite comic book writer. He seems to write the good stories relating to Captain Marvel, Thanos, Warlock and Silver Surfer as well as the Infinity titles, cosmic cube related titles.

I went on a comic spree using GTA money. Got the last three episodes of the Kingdom Come series (have the first one in print and my budget only allowed for three), The Dark Knight Returns complete and the first book of The Savage Sword of Conan. All in all 35 bucks very well spent.

Finished reading kingdom come, which was great but I already had gone through the first couple books so it wasn't a big surprise, I knew of its quality. Started reading TDKR and holy shitballs is this thing good as fuck.

Remember to get the sequal The Dark Knight Strikes Again, I probably enjoyed it more for all the Justice League stuff. Also check out TDKR dc animated movie parts one and two, very good.
