I had what I call a Legendary dream this morning. Most dreams I can't even remember but there are 3 I've had that have stuck with me and that I actually remember very well.

The first dream was in the 90s, I had this dream where I was smack dab in the middle of a 80s Transformers and Thundercats crossover. The good Autobots and Thundercats were battling against the Mutants and Decepticons. We were all on Thundera and I distinctly remember riding inside Optimus Prime in his truck form.

He was talking to me as we were about to cross the bridge of Cat's Lair and go into battle. It was awesome.

How about you?

Reposted from elsewhere, one of the few I actually remember:

I'm not much of a dreamer. Or, should I say, I do dream, but almost invariably forget the dream within the first minute after waking up. Only the most bizarre ones stick with me, ingrained in my brain's HDD.

Once I dreamt that I was partaking in a race, like those that take place on city streets, with traffic shut down and all that jazz. Which is a weird thing because I have not run in AGES, and stopped playing football a long time ago, before work and laziness got in the way. But I digress, the thing is that I was there, owning runners left and right with my amazing racing skills, so the race goes on and before long there's only me and another runner, going at it shoulder to shoulder, and the finish line is a short straightaway from us. So I turn my head to take a look at my rival and find out that he is...

Carl Lewis.

Damn. So I increase the pace and start sprinting towards the finish line, and Carl Lewis does the same! And halfway there I start thinking "WTF, that's Carl mother****ing Lewis, you are not going to beat this guy!", but I keep the speed of my sprint, and we're still going shoulder to shoulder until the very end, and neither one seems to lose any speed, aaaaand then I woke up.

I said "Nooooooooooooo!" like Vader and tried to fall asleep again so I could see who won the race, but my next dream was about me sitting in a chinese restaurant waiting for food. And Carl Lewis wasn't there. So I think I might have won that race, and Lewis got back home all bummed because of losing and not wanting to celebrate.

The end.

I remember almost all my dreams the next morning.  They are usually complicated and involve lots of detail, that in my waking hours I don't think I know.  They usually always involve politicians and people in the public eye.

Last night one of my dreams involved Lakers coach Phil Jackson.  Nothing dramatic, we were just talking in his office about the best way (if any) to discipline grown men who make millions of dollars a year.

Then I had a dream this morning where I was on a campus in an elevator and a french student got on and asked me for name rather than a number to press on the elevator.  I explained to her that this was an elevator and only worked on floor numbers, not student names.  She said, "Zis is not an, ahh, centifugal elevator?" and was exasperated.  "What if I have a class in building 214 and then need to get to building on other side of campus?"  I told her that, "... there is a good bus system on campus, and that while I too was at first sceptical of its efficiency, it turned out that they were actually quite good".

But as for remembering them years, or even days later... nope.  I cannot remember any specifics.

Das ist cool. I hate it when dreams end before the resolution.

Also, what was the food like at the Chinese restaurant?

Not as cool as Carl Lewis. Sorry.

LOL

Let's see, over the last several years (well almost a decade) my memory does not really record dreams and reality any differently. That's not to say I remember every detail of every dream, as I don't remember every detail of every minute of my life. Actually I've forgotten most of it, but that's beside the point. Nyaa

Last nigtht for example I had several dreams, but can only remember one. But I also woke up several times, and can only remember any details about the last time I woke up (before getting up for the day).

On top of that my dreams are in a permanent state of lucidity unless I am dreaming while semi-awake, in which case they are hallucinations that are out of my control, and I am not necessarily aware that they are not real.

Dodging questions ftw.

It's the "Legendary" dream thread. A French person not being able to use a lift doesn't count.

Dream Aspro should have said "Ze Lift workz on numbeeeezzz you imbecile!" Then you slap them across both cheeks with a glove.

My second memorable dream was a doosie. You know in like Star Trek there is some quantum shift, or time travel or inside of mind episode where a character lives an entire lifetime but for everyone else it's a couple of minutes?

Well I found myself living in a small cottage in a Miyazaki like field. I lived an entire lifetime there, I fell in love, I had kids, I had grand kids.

At the end of my life as an old man I was sitting in a rocking chair inside the empty cottage, light was shining through a rooftop window and dust particles were spinning around me. I had a blanket over my lap and a walking stick propped up against the chair.

And I was falling asleep, only it wasn't sleep, I had come to the end of my life and was ebbing away, content. And then I woke up. And I was so disorientated, I looked around my bedroom because I didn't recognise it - it was like I lived an entire lifetime somewhere else only to wake up back in my teens somewhere else.

I felt a huge sense of loss for the wife I had left behind. It left me shaken for an hour or so.

Just now I awoke from a crazy dream. This one was extremely long and went through many different phases so I will pick up toward the end. I was watching or part of some LOST episode. But it was like I was on set, I forget what was going on but I remember that it was like an altered version of the season 2 finale.

So then I am in my house and I had just woken up from that dream and I go to the kitchen and see that its 6, so I figure damn I slept really late, 6pm. Time for dinner, so I make dinner (I dont cook, I have no clue what I was making but it involved picadillo), thats when I realize its 6am and I was like damn I am up early.

I go to watch TV and I see a show/video game (I cant tell cause I was controlling it at times and watching it other times) where there are Muppet terrorists and Sonic the Hedgehog has to stop them. Its like New York City and there are normal humans and muppets walking around and I see a news cast about muppets being blown up by other muppets. For no reason I controlled Sonic from a first person perspective. I had to get to the top of a building to a helipad to stop a bomb or something, I don't know. All I remember is that going up the building was like Sonic Adventure, it had platforming stuff going on and when I reached the top I tried a shortcut by doing a speed boost onto a platform and missed. Then I got a cutscene where a bus full of muppets was being held hostage by a terrorist muppet, I guess my mission was to stop it but I woke up.

What the fuck.

That's wild.

My last Legendary Dream was me caught in a modern day Nazi germany on the brink of world war 3. I will elaborate some other time.
