With the LA game expo almost upon us, here's our guide to what's on when, and what to expect.

Sunday June 13
Microsoft kicks the week off with the unveiling of Natal - or whatever it's to be called - at 7pm. Wave? And $149? Expect Rare to be among the developers showing off the first set of games.

Monday June 14
With us no doubt aching after an evening of flailing as we sample the games on offer, Microsoft will take to the stage again at 10am for its press conference. Could we be seeing an Xbox Slim? Maybe? Details of a dashboard update? Developments on gaming on Windows Phone 7? All up for grabs.

EA will hold its press conference at 2pm; expect something special from a certain UK studio there. Ubisoft, meanwhile, will present its press conference at 5pm. Expect Driver: San Francisco, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Ghost Recon Future Soldier, plus a couple of rather nice surprises.

Tuesday June 15
Nintendo starts its press conference at the criminally early time of 9am - what with Activision holding its E3 party the night before. The promise of the unveiling of 3DS and the next console Zelda game will be enough to rouse us, though. It's hard to imagine that there will be any appearance of a new generation Wii, but we'll be hoping for more on the Vitality Sensor.

Sony kicks its press conference off at 11.30am. More Move for sure, but a new PSP? That would be spiffing. Killzone 3 (plus 3D), Infamous 2, Gran Turismo 5 (could this be its historic last appearance at the show?), LittleBigPlanet 2, and maybe a new Motorstorm, too. And The Last Guardian? Here's hoping.

On the show floor itself, we'll be looking out in particular for the new XCOM, Epic Mickey, which, rumours suggest, has been redeveloped since its first unveiling, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Portal 2 (judging by Valve's latest press release, it's all we're getting from the house of Freeman this year, but it's a good one), Fable 3 and, The Last Guardian. But that last one goes without saying, right?

London (9th June 2010) – Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, announced today its expansive line-up of games for the 2010 E3 Expo, taking place in Los Angeles from June 15-17. The full scope of 2K's experience will be on display* in the South Hall at Booth 2823, as the sequels to some of gaming's biggest franchises will make an appearance alongside the debut of new and exciting additions to their portfolio, creating 2K's biggest E3 showing ever.

"By delivering only the hot list-dominating games that we want to play, 2K will take on E3 2010 with its strongest lineup to date across all of its divisions," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "The benefit of our strategic approach to this year's roster of delivering fewer, bigger titles - featuring games like Mafia® II, NBA® 2K11 and New Carnival Games® - is that we can focus on delivering the most engaging and entertaining experiences for today's broadening gaming audience. From core to casual, 2K will have something for every gamer this holiday season."

In the past five years, 2K has become one of the gaming industry's premier publishers, creating titles that are both critically and commercially successful. By developing a mantra that emphasizes quality over quantity, 2K has published a number of multi-million unit selling franchises in a short amount of time for a wide variety of platforms including BioShock®, BorderlandsTM, Carnival Games, Sid Meier's Civilization®, NBA® 2K, NHL® 2K, Major League Baseball® 2K and more. This year's E3 lineup personifies the very essence of the 2K DNA of creating prestigious and meaningful titles that continue to innovate in unique and exciting ways.

The 2K booth will be home to eagerly anticipated titles from 2K Games, 2K Sports and 2K Play. In addition, the 2K booth will be hosting photo-ops with six of Playboy magazine's most popular Playmates appearances, further enhancing the partnership with Mafia II that features more than 50 of Playboy magazine's vintage covers and Centerfolds as part of a unique in-game integration. Two Playmates will be present at the booth each day for the full three days as part of the Mafia II Photobooth Experience. Show goers can dress up in period clothing and pose with props and upload their photos to their favorite photo sharing and networking sites. Playboy.com's 2008 Cyber Girl of the Year and Gamer Next Door Jo Garcia will also be available for autographs at 2K's booth during select hours and dates. Furthermore, the 2K booth will debut the official Mafia II consumer demo for hands-on play for all E3 attendees, prior to its release later this summer. Parasite Eve was awesome. But they'll probably make 3 an Uncharted clone or some shit, like they did 2 RE.

The fact that the game is happening is good news enough. I don't mind if the game is made more accessible. I think that can only be a good thing.

But it won't be like Uncharted because this was originally a cell phone game that's been enhanced for the PSP. So expect traditional PE.

Should we have a thread for each conference so its easy to find or have this thread as a giant epic E3 thread. The news section should not have the live conference reaction as that would be way to hard to find in an archive.

I vote thread per conference and a thread per publisher.

I think we can bunch some of the publishers together, how many people will be in the Activision thread or EA thread. Just stick all those together.

Nintendo, Sony, and MS/Natal should each have their own thread.  Maybe lump EA, Ubi, Valve, and Activision together since they're all on Monday. And then Konami could have their own since there's isn't till Wednesday.

Didn't we just have one conference thread that covered all 3 last year?

I thought this place could be an announcement dump.

BTW, where can we watch this Sunday Natal conference?

I'll be curious to hear how Sims 3 for the consoles turns out.  That's more for my wife than for me though. EA is doing their typical "stay with what works" strategy.

It's a pretty big deal for MS so I don't blame them for being scared. Wave is going to be what determines how much longer of a lifespan the 360 has, and if they sustain their marketshare over PS3 or if they lose it.  I've yet to see a flawless demonstration of it so my confidence is not high.  If something screws up I'd want to keep it on the downlow too.
