I haven't used any yet. But when I reach the point where I don't know what else I can do it's nice to find other secrets.

Which Is why I have a strategy guide I don't look at.
No guides for me until I finish the game first. I may buy the physical version of the guide for this game for collector reasons.
Why would you want a guide for this game? The whole point is exploration.

I thought you hated exploration?

I'm not fond of it in XCX no. BotW's overworld is much better designed though, I haven't once gotten lost. I also feel that XCX's overworld is very empty, with little points of interest. Botw's however is filled with chests ingredients, small Korok puzzles, ... It's just much more rewarding.
I didn't manage to finisch XCX before Switch hit, and many a times have I already wondered how I'll ever be able to go back to XCX after having played BotW.

Da fuq?
I got lost for ages, hours even. I ran up against impassible mountains, rivers and canyons. The overworld is much more difficult to navigate than XCX.

Time is a relative thing indeed, where hours can eclipse ages.
There's a difference in getting lost and not being able to traverse an area. Now in BotW I haven't really explored a wide area, but I've always known exactly where I was. In XCX however I've become positively lost, where I had to make use of the trackball to know which way I should be going.
gamingeek said:If there's one thing about botw that bothers me is they are still doing the zora domain, gerudo, death mountain etc to death. They need to move onto new and more unique themes.
. I'm sure they'll get there eventually. Give them a decade or 2 and I'm sure they'll amaze us.
I agree with vader. The whole point of the game is the immense freedom it gives you, how little direction it gives, and finding shit for yourself through your own ingeniuity. It's genius for that, reading the guides robs the experience. It's like playing a puzzle game and then looking up the solutions. Why bother playing?

Theres lots of stuff I would never even think to try, and many secrets you'd never find without the lowdown.
Coming back to this thread I found I did all of the stuff above with no help. Game must be more accesible than I first imagined.

Aspro needs your help, GG. You're his only hope. Well, besides IGN guides.
