The Master League alone would be reason enough to get this one.

As the 100 hour mark approaches, I think I am ready to slowly change to manual. I'll start with through pass.

What's this about?

Most of the controls in FIFA are assisted by default, since you can shoot, lob or pass in any direction, and with any given strenght, you can even bend and apply effect to passes to avoid defenders. However, the full manual set of controls is unbelievably difficult to master, so most guides recommend a staged approach starting with passes and slowly moving onto full manual shooting, which would be the holy grail of the game.

Full manual control is much, much more difficult to handle, but it lets you perform things that you wouldn't dream when on assisted mode. The chances of fucking things up in critical moments are way higher, though, so most people settle for assisted or semi-assisted mode.

Awesome. With a FIFA game as good as it is, and this coming out, I'll be playing a football game fro the rest of the year, and probably never end up picking up Madworld of Deadly Creatures. Or RE5, or course I'd never pick that up anyway. Nyaa

Tell me about it. I was worried when I decided to stop buying new games before I worked through my backlog, but now I'm more worried I won't even get to touch my backlog because of FIFA.

Yeah, but you claimed it was mandatory. Thank god it wasn't. Who gives a crap about trading cards.

And now that the game is taking longer to load, who gives a crap about trophies? I WANT THEM GONE! Sad

The trophy trap is mandatory isn't it? It forced me to get it.

There's just one problem with the game. Professional-Legendary difficulty are all exactly the same, and the AI isn't much better than semi-pro, it just makes the opponent's goalkeeper much better. Ugh, same problem FIFA has had for years.

oh well.

Is that so? I started with the highest diff setting because I was having a hard time completing  match objectives, and it seemed to me that AI was more permissive when I toned it down a notch.

Oh sure, you get more space on the easier difficulties, and lower then professional scoring is easy. But above that the skill in attack of the AI is about the same from what I've seen and they jsut attack more on higher elvels. Yet their attacking si terrible. The chances they do create they rarely finish (usually through terrible finishing) and the ones that they do score are always the cheap ones and never nice moves. And in defence they feel so very static, and not very good at all. At the end of the day it always feels like it's mainly the buff to the goalkeepers ability that stops the goals from going in. Kinda disappointing for me, but meh. It's still a lot of fun.

Hey, after the trophy update, is the loading suddenly a lot slower for you too? It often freezes for a few seconds on menus etc.

I haven't logged on for the past 2 or 3 days. I am going to be extremely pissed off if something as stupid as some afterthought shit trophies fuck up loading times in a noticeable way.

Grinning And now you wish you didn't log in!

Seriously though that was fun. You weren't lagging at all were you? I got a little lag from the end of the second half onwards (your cheating ploy backfired! Nyaa) but it was still easily playable.

Were you using manual control?

I got lag most of the game, but that doesn't change the fact that you handed my ass down to me in a beatdown of epic proportions. Nyaa You owe me a rematch, pumpkin.
