Iwata Asks Interview

I loved the DS game. I wasn't that into the Wii version because I prefer the touch screen rather than buttons and some of the videos I saw before were too similar to the DS minigames.

Saw a video this morning which was cool.

And then I checked out some of the soundtrack on youtube of the Wii game. Now I am excited.

Anyone else checked out the Rhythm Heaven games yet?

Yeah, I had the DS game, it was nice fun for a good while, but then I started to find some of the minigames repetitive. Then my game cart got lost. Sad

Such a shame, there are so many minigamers and variations and remixes. How far did you get? Did you play some of  my favourites?

Karate Man was cool and Space Soccer and the Rockers. Lock step I love. And the space table tennis was nuts. Love Lab and DJ School.

Wired review Rhythm Heaven Fever 9/10

"Crazy, funny graphics, excellent genre-spanning soundtrack, simple and precise controls, perfect for parties."

Wired said:

In one of the first musical mini-games you play in Rhythm Heaven Fever, you’re on a romantic date and must kick away a series of footballs that are on a collision course with some nearby cartoon weasels. Fail to kick a ball away to the rhythm of the music and the furry critters get a pigskin to the face. Every person I showed this to almost died laughing at the way the weasels’ heads snap back with an alarming smack on impact.

Rhythm Heaven Fever boasts a staggeringly extensive soundtrack of catchy tunes covering an array of different genres, from head-pounding rock to way-too-sweet pop, everything with a distinct Japanese style. Kicking back and listening to the music is the single biggest stress reliever when you’re getting frustrated by the high difficulty.

And if that doesn’t help, you can always get your catharsis by sitting back and watch somebody else smack weasels in the face with footballs.

Fever's soundtrack is infectious, and offers a ridiculous amount of whimsical tunes spanning multiple genres

I really want this game, but the same as the Bit Trip Collection, I feel it should be cheaper than full retail price.

I may be wrong but despite being tons of inventive fun by the looks of it, it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of content.

Rhythm Heaven Fever Destructoid review

I think I'll be playing Rhythm Heaven Fever on a periodic basis for at least the next 30 years. Thirty bones is a steal for this level of high-quality fun. You'd have to be a completely foul-brained life hater to pass this one up.

Rhythm Heaven Fever offers the simplicity and elegance of "One Note Samba" or "Blister in the Sun," the directness of the art of Mike Mignola or Pendleton Ward, and the understated but endlessly variable gameplay design of arcade titles like Pac-Man Champion Edition DX or Super Mario Bros. It's one of my favorite games of this generation -- a title that offers a much stronger education in game design and a more pure, direct, and genuine experience than most games on the market.

9.5

Perhaps due to its simple style Rhythm Heaven Fever is launching at a value price, but it’s bursting with addictive content you’ll want to experience over and over again. RHF is an experience you can either face like the hardcore gamer you dream of being or in a relaxed afternoon like a music lover not bothered by high scores. RHF finds a great middle ground between the Wii's family audience and the niche group Japanese oddities like Rhythm Heaven normally attracts. If you want some light fun to enjoy between “serious” games, don’t deny yourself one of the last Wii games worth your time.

NWR Review Rhythm Heaven Fever

"This is the most polished game in the Rhythm Heaven series, a series already so well constructed that it has the ability to consume lives. It's occasionally frustrating, frequently hilarious, decidedly beautiful, and monumentally fun. If you own a Wii you need to own this game. Pull it out next time you have friends over; I guarantee it will be more fun than any "party" game, even for those not playing."

Kotaku review Rhythm Heaven Fever

"It's refreshingly brutal in its simplicity of design, and for all its family-friendly color, it is one of the most hardcore games I've played in ages. It's hellish; it's a rush. It's maddening; it's joyous. My thumb literally has blisters on it. I can do no less than to give it a wholehearted recommendation."

Rhythm Heaven Fever VGTribune review

" Rhythm Heaven Fever is an unforgettable experience. The music is brilliant and will stick in your head for days (I've already made the game's 7th Remix my new ringtone) and the entire game oozes with a quirky charm that will enchant people of any age. The Rhythm Heaven series has always been one of my favorites from Nintendo and this latest installment on Wii definitely stands up to the high pedigree of the franchise. Whether you are a hardened musician or someone who lacks rhythm entirely, Rhythm Heaven Fever is an experience that should not be missed. And, at an MSRP of $30, there's absolutely no excuse to not pick this one up."

MTV review Rhythm Heaven Fever

It's absolutely worth checking out, especially if you can feel the beat. Even if you can't, like most rhythm games, Fever is still pretty fun to just sit back and enjoy.

Rhythm Fever Nintendo Okie review

"Not only is it one of the best rhythm games I’ve ever played it’s one of the best games on the Wii, period. It shows just how great Nintendo is at creating a game that’s simple to learn, complex to master, and will keep you coming back for a long time to come. "
