That's crazy and stupid. So Nintendo online won't work for certain people? How is that ok?

Well online works, his not with voice chat I guess. So far I'm not feeling Splatoon 2, so far all because of starting late and my lowly status. Everyone has more experience with the maps, better weapons and perks. And I'm stuck with guns I don't like and rarely ever played with before. And the joycon detached aiming failed me twice as I wasn't able to turn my wrist far enough to shoot someone twice. Also the Splashdown is unfair to the user as you're not invincible when you initiate it, you can easily get shot down before it lands. So I've had to use the grip and rachet up the motion sensitivity till it feels like Splat 1. Also it doesn't make my hand cramp. Tried Salmon run. I love it, so cool. I love the feeling of being under siege and rushing to your friends aid and lol being loaned the charger wth? Like Rainmaker I feel like I'm the best at nabbing the eggs and getting to the collector super fast. I won us a match in the last second doing that. Games graphics are great, when you see the characters at the start point depth of field, shaders popping. I think though that either the scoring is different or the maps larger size has completely changed the point system.

So what I'm noticing is that virtually everyone is scoring 750 regularly and I'm no longer near or at the top anymore. Also in Splat 1 if you killed 5 that was usually a good match you win. Here everyone is killing that many on a regular basis. So I think it's because they have this new mechanic that respawns you faster if you keep being splatted and because of the larger maps everyone is scoring more. Also hate getting marked by the tentamissiles. They are basically ink strikes that take no skill to hit you. People can mark you even out of sight. It's easy to dodge but it forces you to move, revealing your position and often forcing you right into the path of someone else who kills you.

Also no one uses the splat dualies dodge move? At all? Also didn't like getting paired against 4 aerospray users. Also got lumped with two snipers.

I haaaate it when they mess with weapon balance. They have nerfed the carbon roller by having a slow run up. They nerfed all rollers with the jump damage which now means you have a tiny width and need perfect aim. Even with doing this a jump slash with a carbon now barely gives half damage to an enemy. That ink cloud special is shit, kills no one. And where are the seekers? Are there even seekers in this game? What has happened to the aerospray? It was always a good weapon but now the coverage is insane. Run speed seems reduced though.

Now I hear there are no seekers in Splatoon 2.

WTF. Serious bullshit. Why do they fuck with all the weapons and subs I use then leave other guns and subs untouched? Nerf rollers, Splattershots are the same, aerosprays are better. Nerf/destroy seekers and replace them with robot bombs that are easy to dodge with a delay or bouncing bombs that can bounce off people and not actually explode when they do.

And they have changed the subs for existing weapons/pairs which further messes things up.

I played over three hours straight yesterday, got to level 11 so I can do ranked battles, so much fun. Now each mode has its own ranking so get ready for a whole lot of playing to climb ranks on all three. It's still very frustrating as teams can be so unbalanced. We need to do league matches.

I am at world 4 in the single player, some really neat levels and a few new ideas. But still so similar to the last one. I do like being able to use unconventional weapons for levels designed for a certain weapon, really changes the way you approach the level.

Salmon run yesterday was a mess, maybe it was the gun load out, I lost nearly every match when previously I would win the grand majority. Weird.

Have you all played the rhythm game in the hub? Fun little game that lets you hear the soundtrack.

Don't you need an amiibo to play the rhythm game?

I beat the first campaigns boss with the toaster, loved it. I think they should do team co-op battles against bosses like this. I know Salmon run has bosses but they are more like special enemies than bosses.

I finally unlocked the Aerospray and carbon roller and got back to something approaching my best.

I was lucky to get a map rotation of Port Mackeral and Moray Towers so it let me cut loose on maps I know. Which then led on to me scouting out the other new maps and getting better at them too. Also got a couple of good perks to use.

A scored over 2300 to top one match with the nearest on our team having 1600. The Aerospray is better at inking territory in S2, but having tested it in the training area it is less accurate and less powerful against foes, which sucks. The bomb rush special with the sliding bombs is pretty insane and can turn a match and win you points after the time has run out if timed well.

I have also done some prelimenary tests on some weapons regarding the perks with some interesting results. Basically to run from one area of the training area while shooting takes around 11 seconds with the Jr, Splattershot, Dualies and Aerospray and the best you can get is 3 seconds off that time.

Interestingly, the Splattershot is around 1 second slower than in the first game, and even with perks, it still is a second slower compared to S1 with perks.

This was interesting, over a short range, the bog standard Splat roller is only 1 second slower than the Carbon roller because there is now a slow run up to the Carbon roller. So unless you have some massive map you can run with for ages, it's better to use the Splat roller as it's more powerful and has better specials. There's also no damage perks in S2 so you cannot buff the Carbon roller anymore which sucks.

Over a longer distance, the Carbon roller turned out as 3 seconds faster than the Splat roller. But IMO, even with a Ink Saver Main your ink runs out faster than in S1 with the carbon roller. I actually like the robot bomb now, you can throw it into enemy ink and it will chase anything it senses. And similarly in Port Mackeral if someone is hiding around a corner, those little robots will seek them out. The special ink cloud is shit, does not kill anyone and doesn't even give you even coverage. And you can't really aim it that well either.

Also Sheldon said something about getting weapons to field test for him in the hero mode but I skipped the text by accident and I can't find that option in his shop?

Don't know about the chunks.  The tickets you get from playing Salmon Run, although I'm not 100% sure how that all works out myself yet.  As for heel weapons, I'm assumibg you'll get them by just using the same one in a lot or all of the single player levels.

I suck at Splatoon2.  Haven't won anything in 2 days, or so it feels at least.  Also, I don't know what they changed to matchmaking, but I've had a lot more difficulties winding games in this one week, than in a full year of playing the original.

Yes but it's hard to pinpoint what's  changed. Everyone is now killing 5 every match and everyone is scoring around 750 unless you aerospray and bomb spam. I think with S1 the respawn time was slower where they have made you spawn more quickly now if you keep getting splatted. So it makes it easier for others to make comebacks. And harder to dominate maps with strategic kills. Also the maps are bigger I think aside from inkblot academy so people can avoid death more easily.

Anyone know what your 'freshness' rating does?  In the last game you could use it to get a cash bonus from Jud.
