I wouldn't worry about it. I won't stop playing Arms just because Splatoon 2 comes out.

I don't play Arms online and I still get a hell of a lot of enjoyment out of it. I play almost exclusively in handheld mode with button inputs too. The Grand Prixs progress can be stopped and saved at any moment so you can jump in and out easily.

Snake Pass just got 40% off on the eshop too. Might get that.

What do you mean?  They can give the code but doesn't mean it'll download yet.

That pic shows someone has got the game from an early download. Don't ask me how.

I could have bought it yesterday, but that store was selling it for €59, whereas I knew of a place that would sell it one day early at €49.  I don't regret waiting those 24 hours.

Well, I don't regret it much...

Anyone else changing their gear for Splatoon 2 in regards to router, ethernet cables, controllers etc?

My net connect upload rate isn't great and I'm pretty fed up with Japanese lag. Someone on Miiverse said a long time ago that getting the USB Lan adapter reduced the wireless lag. So I'm getting a USB 2.0 one today, I chose 2.0 so I can flip it between Switch and Wii U.

I'm also a little worried after the Splatfests and testfires about using the joycons for this game. Virtually any other game on Switch works fine with the joycons but for a game where you need super fast 100% reliable reactions, I find the face buttons too close and the right stick awkwardly placed.

Of course you only need 1 face button most of the time - jump. So it's not a huge issue. I played with joycons detached however and after a few matches the small size of the right joycon combined with holding down the ZR to fight made my wrists cramp a little.

I need to check out the grip to see how it works there, but unlike Wii U it's not an elongated controller and pinching into holding a regular old controller shape can be uncomfortable for me.

So I assume someone - vader? played the demos using the pro-controller? What's that like in terms of the gyro aiming  compared to the first game?

I've already come to realize that I'll be doing most of my switch gaming in handhekd mode while the missus hogs the tv and my wiiU for netflix.  So I'm all set I guess.

Easier to aim with a small controller rather than a big fat pad thing.

What way are people playing here and what are your settings?

I tried to play the demos with split joycon to get wiimote like aiming but it was a bit too sensitive. I found -2 on the TV/tabletop mode. The little of handheld mode I played was tough. To the point where I feel its going to take a lot of sensitivity tweaking to get it just right. Although it's fine with rollers.

Also you cannot play in bed if you are lying down. Gyro messes up your angle.

Hmm. Now I'm torn.

Did you try upping the sensitivity?

GG, I think you are the only one who uses gyro.  We are now level 7, haven't touched the single player yet.  It doesn't reinvent the wheel but still incredibly fun.

Gyro is the only way Travo!  Seriously,it gives you a level of control I couldn't miss.  I norticed my son playing and he didn't even use the right stick, just the gyro.  I ramped up the sensitivity for him.  He's pretty crap though.
