Thanks GG, wich I could have read it.
For everyone else, I called this the most consequential game of the generation in a post, my expanation of that is that this game should never have been published in accordance with capitalist market systems.
The content of this game is phenomenally controversial, so for Take2 to publish it was either negligence on their part or a brilliant editorial move. I hope that this is the watershed for adult content in games to come (and knowing my audience, I don't mean "adult content in games to cum").
I am ruined for all shooters for the rest of my life. "This is all your fault."
I cannot believe this game was published in the US. After the events of the last few months, if they had to decide to Publish it now, it would not have been released.

I'm glad you agree... So you are playing it eh?
Neat game. I read "Killing Is Harmless" after. It's probably my favourite video game-related book ever.
Listen to Iced Earth and play Doom
Just finished it. The gameplay was a monotonous gears clone with endless waves of identical enemys that you have played 100 times this generation already, rating in about a 7. The story bits they do and the ending was particularily awesome, probably enough to bring the game up to an 8.
It's worth a playthrough but keep in my mind without it's narrative stuff this game would be nothing.
Did anyone play Yager's first game? I have it unplayed (it was called Yager by the way.
Berlin-based Yager, creators of Spec Ops: The Line (shown) has licensed Epic's Unreal Engine 4 for use in an unannounced next-gen title.
Yager said in a press release that the title will be a major triple-A game that it expects to unveil in the coming months.
In the opinion of Timo Ullmann, Yager's managing director, "Unreal Engine 4 is, hands down, the best toolset for creating next-generation, AAA games."

Even better than Masters of Doom? (my favorite gaming related book).
I just finished it. Easily the best shooter I've ever played on the shoulders of its story alone, and one of the best games I've played, period. Gameplay was standard "waves of enemies-cutscene-waves of enemies" stuff, but it does have some neat stealth-ish segments, and enough variety in weapons to keep shooting boredom at bay. It's no better or worse than most shooters out there, but it thoroughly takes a major shit over all of them in regards to story, consequences to your actions and some of the most poignant stabs through the 4th wall I've been exposed to.
Music is also great. All of it.
Glad you enjoyed it Steel since I contributed in compelling you to buy it.
Did you have any of the AI problems that Foolz is having on PC?
What's also gret about it is the multiple choices a long the way that I did not even know were choices on my first playthrough. But when you go back you realize things could have gone differently along the way.
You may enjoy this interview with the writer from the game:
Okay, I made it my GOTY 2012, I've talked around the edges (which I will continue to do), and I've never really laid down what it is about the game that is so good.
Well, for that I'd have to spoil it, and I'm not going to do that. But I am prepared to make some statements that will shed some light on why I think most of you should play it.
First a little about the game part of the game:
So that's the GAME part of the game.
Okay. Well by now you are thinking, "Holy Shit, Aspro, ye of JRPG and retro gaming, how have you made a squad based shooter your GOTY?, are you lonely? do you need attention?" The answer to all that is irrelevant, but trust me on this one, you don't beat 40 games a year and flippantly throw away your GOTY to get attention. This was, by far the best game I played that was released in 2012.
Why? Well, because of the content of this game it should NEVER, EVER have made it through a publisher. is it anti-war? No. This is not a war game that is anti-war. That would be so fucking stupid that I waould pay you money NOT to play it. If someone did that, I'd be lighting flares to ward you away.
This is a game about moral choices that are nuanced to an extent that has never before been done in a game.
So How About the Story?
Well, keeping it spoiler free, Dubai (the non-american version of Vegas) has been destroyed by a massive natural disaster. We sent in a big boss from the US Army (someone who you worked with before, who is your hero) and some strange shit happened. All we know is that there are civilians in there still alive and we need to get them the fuck out and find out what happened, and also give some support to Big Boss, or see if he's okay etc... Basically, a great Die Hard/ Rambo movie set in the most extreme setting ever for a game -- Dubai.
So If it is a Third Person Shooter... So What now?
Well if you have read this far you should buy the game.
But anyhow, this is about a man -- you. And what you and your friends would do if you were in a war setting. You might crack, you might not. You may save people, but can you (or is it possible to) save yourself? you won't know until you have played, Spec Ops: The Line.
