edgecrusher said:It has A vehicle.....comes in handy because its an open world and walking everywhere gets boring. It gets repetitive because you get sent on random jobs and missions just like Far Cry 2, and its all the same "go find this guy, kill him" and "pull these 5 levers to restore power" kind of crap.
RPG....well, more like a loot collecting game like Baldur's Gate mixed with a shooter. Your guy levels up and gains new abilities and experience, allowing you to equip better weapons and gadgets.
Eh, doesn't sound too appealing.

My favorite line from the game.
Got back to it after Mafia II. I can't get enough of the art style. Looks pretty good. Claptraps are awesome, but they need more dialogue lines. I'm struggling in most battles right now, maybe I fucked up somewhere.
Played it some more last night, but got pissed off. I'm Lv 13 now, but having a hard-ass time in Sledge's safe house. No matter which weapon I use I fight an uphill battle with those fucking midgets and a badass raider that spits over my dead body every single time.
Finally cleared the safe house. Found some better weapons and things improved noticeably. I had to cheese my way out of the safe house boss, but it went better than expected.
I guess I shouldn't go in there, after all.
Things have improved noticeably. Gun variety is crazy, with lots of weird shit to try out. That helps offset the simple quests and the obnoxious respawning. 22 hours in, just met Crazy Earl. Story? Bah, who plays this game for the story anyways?
Lv 31 now, having a great time with the game despite its design flaws. Found a kickass rare revolver last night that has become my main weapon. This game definitely needed a minimap like the GTA games, though.
Ended up beating the game at around the 50 hour mark. Lv 40-ish, pretty fun stuff although I had hoped to find more rare weapons by the end, which didn't happen. Scavenger missions also failed to provide cool guns both at the beginning and in the latter parts of the game.
Dabbled a bit in the DLC, mainly Dr. Ned's Zombie Island, which was kind of cool, and Mad Moxxi's Underdome, which proved to be way too hard for a Mordecai to solo. that brought my playthrough to a halt. I might play the last and arguably best DLC, the one with the claptraps.
Okay HELP please.
I just got to the part wher I brought the fast travel generators back online. They want me to kill 8 or so dune buggy parties. This is the Road Warriors Hot Shots mission.
How did you do this? I am having trouble killing them in the vehicle, and if I get out I am dead meat.
I've tried and failed the internet for a solution to this. I am lvl 17 chr.
EDIT: I guess it's just a matter of rocket launching them. I just found that capability of my buggy just now.

Let me join you and I will do it.
(actually I am not there yet but I am a higher level than you.)
^If you want, just let me know. After I am done with the podcast edit tonight I'll be around all day tomorrow, next day too. (If that works, I still have nto ifgured out how coop works).
I appear to have hit an unsurmountable difficulty spike in the game. It's the Canned Skag Meat Mission, which from what I can tell is mandatory. I am dying as soon as I spawn in Krom's Canyon. Not quite sure how I'll get out of this one.

Engage Vader mode.
Yeah, not a bad idea. If I keep fumbling tonight I'll through it open to the public and see what happens. Vader and I make a pretty good team though.
Well, I'm all good now. Looks like htat was 5 levels of exp over where I am right now, so I will go questing for a while and build up my level.
I was not taking too much attention of the journal -- it explicitly tells you the difficulty levels -- this one was "Impossible" level. I almost got it done too
I have a silver trophy in this game for "playing with a gearbox employee or someone who has played with them" so if anyone wants that trophy or needs it for a platinum let me know.
Of note, I played online co-op today with a random and even though right now I have been slowed to 56 kbps it totaly worked fine. Which was impressive.

Bonus co-op goodness.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile
Yeah, questing here is quite boring. Fetch quests or kill someone. You have very light RPG elements in there such as levelling up, a skill system and huge amounts of randomly generated loot Diablo style. There is one vehicle that comes in two flavors: machine guns and rocket.
