Just before you slid it in.

Not really. The 360 was never a shitfest. PS3 was though, I agree.
Yeah PS3 was a shitfest for a good long while, but it came around.
But, dear sir. Nothing outdoes the red ring of death. I went through FOUR 360's and my original PS4 still runs (abiet it sounds like a Apache AH-64 warming up).
The PS3's dickishness matched the 360's mechanical difficulties.

The 360 itself was literally a shitfest.
My first PS3 YLOD'd so even if it had the best games, ultimately it was a shitfest as well.
Everything was s shitfest, nobody won. Except Nintendo stockholders...who sold before the Wii U.
I seem to remember it launched with some neat games. PD Zero (for the people that like that franchise, all 3 of them) and dunno what else.

COD2, Condemned and two rare games and in highsight none of them were really great. IIRC it wasn't until GOW and Oblivion launched that it was worth picking up the system.

It had COD2, Quake 4, Perfect Dark Zero....Kameo, and a few others. It was a good launch. That was followed up by a few great games every month, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was to me the first really big title that showed off what the thing could REALLY do. Then a month later Oblivion came out. This was all during a time the Gamecube and PS2 didn't have shit and Wii and PS3 were still half a year off.
PC. Now and forever.
Wii won sales, and sure some of its library had some unique, fresh, and distinct titles. Problem, a lot of it was merely good, not great, and all things considered that console had a whopping 2 great games to show for it: Both of them being the Mario Galaxy games.
Games wise: Eh it's fishy between the 360 and PS3. The 360's best exclusives weren't all that special with the exception of Viva Pinata and Dead Rising. I like Shadow Complex, Halo Reach, the original Gears of War, Nuts and Bolts and the like but, again same scenario, good, really good even, but great? On the flip side it had the best console versions of most major multiplats, and in the case of Bayonetta, fuck the PS3 version so much. 360 version in that case was divine, in fact I'd still rather play that version over the WiiU version. XBLA had a much better selection in the long run than PSN. But if it came down to again "great games", I don't necessarily miss out on much (other than the best version of Bayonetta, and fuck that was fixed by WiiU time anyway, so I can take one for the team there) with the 360, where as the PS3 for all its shittyness I do miss out on Demon's Souls, Valkyria (at the time at least), The Last of Us, and Uncharted 2.
Ergo PC. King. Now and forever.

Dead or Alive 4
Dead Rising
GRAW
The 360 started off pretty strong actually, even before Gears of War.

Didn't 360 launch in 2004?

Hmmm, Dead Rising was fun, but it wasn't even critically revered at the time with some stupid time limitations. DOA4, again I don't really rate these fighting games as big launch games, stuff like Injustice, Tekken 20 or whatever. GRAW was good, but if Oblivion launched shortly after like Edge said it was nowhere near being a launch game?
Gagan said:Dead Rising and its time system are fantastic.
Agreed. It was perfect for multiple play throughs and gave the game a great survival feeling.
PS3 easy. Game of the generation with MGS4. By a mile the best exclusives of the two HD consoles with Uncharted, Dark Souls, LBP and TLOU.
Really it's no contest.
