Fuck the haters. MGS2 deserves its spot.

Since I've only played a third of the first game and nothing else (I intend to go thorugh the series at some point), from an outsiders view I've always thought people ranked them them thusly (in terms of greatness)

  1. MGS1 (for the shock value of the game -- mantis, stealth, story etc...)
  2. MGS2 (for applying 6th gen to the original premise).
  3. MGS3 (for taking it in a new direction with the camo)
  4. MGS4 (As being okay, but way long-winded and overall pretty 'meh')

I've only played a little of 4 (no PS3), but I have watched much of the game being played. My ranking would probably be as follows:

1. MGS3

2. MGS4

3. MGS1

4. MGS2

Popular opinion is wrong.

4 over 2? Hell no. Otherwise it's understandable.

Popular opinion is rarely right. If popular opinion is all it takes, then Avatar is the best movie ever.... and if that's the best movie ever I'm just going to go ahead and swear off the movies for the rest of my life.
