Where to start? I will respond to this, but it's a long post.
I can certainly well appreciate someone like yourself taking this as seriosly as I do, you are certainly doing it respectfully.
I've long contemplated making a game room. My office is just begging to be turned into something useful, now that I no longer work from home. As it is my crap is scattered throughout the house. My Wii U is my bedroom. My PS3 is in the living room. My Wii upstairs in the media room/guest bedroom that gets used for retro NES and SNES games.
Take pictures once yours is set up. Some inspiration might be good.

I'm trying to figure out how to post pics. I used to use imageshack for that stuff, but they fucking charge now to upload pics. It used to be free.
And you should convert that space man. Game Room > Office
Cool thanks....next thursday i'll try and upload some shit once its all cleaned out.
Need to see the final room all arranged.
And pics of your porn collection too.
Nice. I have it all arranged on shelves on both sides of the TV. Cloth to cover up the systems, that is genius.
I don't have a porn collection GG. That's what the internet is for.

Whatever it is I'm sure it tastes of the sea.
So I've been kind of fucking around with my game/music room lately. Its a good size room but not huge...just a good size living room basically.
I bought a cheap little 3 shelf book shelf at Target, which fits all my older consoles on it perfectly. I put Xbox 360 & PS3 on the top. Below that, I have the Dreamcast & XBOX original. The middle shelf sits the PS2 slim & the Gamecube. Then, at the bottom, sits the Saturn & the N64. This sits right on the side of my tv stand (which I want to replace...hate the stand) which has my 48 inch Sony Bravia smart LED on top with my Fios box. Then on the middle shelf is my XBOX One & my Wii U (which sits on top of the Xbone) off to the left side, my center speaker, and my PS4 on the right side. The bottom has my Sony reciever and the Retron 5 on it.
I bought these cool sticky lights for the bookshelf that you can turn on and off by pressing them. They show off the consoles nicely when its dark.
Off to the left hand side of my TV is my PC. I keep everything covered with hotel cloth napkins so they don't get super dusty. This setup gives me access to basically every major game going all the way back to the NES. The only thing missing are some of the more obscure systems like the 3DO and Neo Geo.
Just bought a few nice HDMI switch boxes and S-video as well as Component video converter boxes, so all the consoles are basically ready to go at the push of a button.
I had to get separate component switches thanks to Gamecube's lack of optical audio. But its all good. I have Saturn, N64 & Dreamcast hooked up to the s-video converter. XBOX and PS2 are hooked to one component converter, with Gamecube on the other. Everything from 360 after is all hooked straight to HDMI.
As for games and storage, I just got a nice wood coffee table chest which has huge storage inside for all my controllers and whatnot, which is great because they're out of sight but also easy access and dust free. And I have two giant bookshelves with all my Xbox and Playstation games on one, with all my Nintendo and Sega stuff on the other. Then on top of those I have random collector's editions. I also have a wall shelf with more shit.
Its a simple little setup but highly efficient. How about you guys? How do you set your stuff up?
