Yoda, I must sound like a broken record.

It seems to be okay at the moment but earlier today and even a few minutes ago. The editor seems really slow, like there is a delay between my typing and the words coming on screen. Also the scrolling is slow and it seems to work okay with the page up and down buttons and even the arrow keys, but clicking the scroll bar on the right moves jerkily.

Also the rich text to link convertor for the updates doesn't seem to be working reliably.

I think you should try using IE8 with the site for a whole week and see if you notice any of these problems, because sometimes it works and sometimes its spotty.

Look, you're running in compatibility mode.  I don't know what else to say, your browser is emulating IE7.  Your useragent shows IE7, the glitch for the news title box being too small was only in IE7.  You're running in compatibility mode.  Since you can't seem to find the compatibility view button, go to Tools and uncheck Compatibility View.  Any issues there, go to Tools->Compatibility View Settings and remove thevgpress.com from the list.

I went into the compat view settings and removed vgpress off the list and unchecked the user compat view for websites. The scrolling has sorted itself out but the editor is still perilously slow to respond to typing. If I type in source mode its normal speed.

Often when I click on the news tab on the front page it doesn't open. I have to got o the forum tab first, unless I open news in a new tab...which results in the going back a page problem. This generally happens when I first navigate to the site.

Yoda, this is Ravenprose. I can't log in. I'm certain I'm using the correct password, but it says, "login failed" on both Firefox and Opera. Sad

Thanks

Maybe. LOL Something odd is definitely going on, because now I can't log into my Hamster1 account! I know I have the passwords correct for both accounts, but both still fail. When I closed my browser earlier, I was automatically logged out of my Hamster1 account, and then I couldn't log back in. I also tried to log in using my Wii, and that failed too.

I should also mention that when I created my Hamster1 and Raven accounts today, the page just hung, no confirmation or anything. I had to go to the main page manually to see if the account was created.

No big deal, but telling you in case it indicates a larger issue:

I made a change to my profile (user signatures turned on).  After applying that change my skin went from light to dark (not my epidermis, that of the web site).

Once Yoda realised that banning you would only lead to the creation of multiple, even more annoying accounts, he relented. LOL

Yoda can you check the updating process again?

The rich text to link converter isn't working properly. I either get half a link or more commonly no link whatsoever. It makes the update process doubly slow. Since its TGS it's killing me here. Sad

I copy a piece of text with a link in it. Paste it into the title box and either no link is generated in the link box, or only the back half of the link.

STACKTRACE? Wut? LOL

If you click the tab before the page is finished loading, clicking the same tab after it's loaded isn't going to work.

Process:

  1. Go to thevgpress.com
  2. Main section has loading animation
  3. Click "News" while it's still loading (nothing happens)
  4. Page finishes loading
  5. Address bar now shows thevgpress.com/#!/ggweekly.html
  6. Click "News" and nothing happens (it's already "at" that page)

Updated the handling of the front page to eliminate double loading.

Fixed slow loading of the front page.  For some reason the latest reviews query was running 10x slower on the live server, so I fixed it up by improving performance 10x with an index.

A couple of editing issues.

In the news section I have an article about Jaffe, and journalists is mis-spelt.  I show tools, then edit, then save, gt the green message, but no changes go to the article.

In the game review section I went to edit my review of Chicago Enforcer and none of my review text appears where it would normally (in the alternate review section of the Simple option).
