I think what really does hurt it is actually the thing a lot of open world games do, but don't fucking have to do, I don't know it's like a contract devs sigh when they make open world games, and there is a lot of filler. 157 side ops, and I've done about 70 at this point, a lot of them being a certain type of mission, and I'm going....why the fuck did this need to be 157 strong? If it's for the sake of "building mother base" then all it really added was a grind, and in reality I would have rather you discover blue prints on the map to unlock equipment and all that jazz. Because given the main game is like 50 some odd missions, it's like fucking why?

Do you have to do that stuff, though?

Yes and no. I think you can absolutely wreck this game, gameplay wise if you are patient, take full advantage of D-dog (also Quiet is the game on easy mode), and are doing a reasonable job fultoning people. I think you don't necessarily ever need to touch the side game.

But the best part of Metal Gear Solid 5 is going to be....MGS5's beauty is the on the fly scenario, the sneaking is cerebral and you feel a special kind of badass when doing it. Especially when you're choking people out as opposed to tranqing them, and getting all the intel by interrogation. But the toys for the action, really add a lot to the gameplay. The game is just as fun as a toy, if not more so as a toy than this purest, your wit and your gun stealth game. So I feel like you do miss something not doing the mother base stuff, which benefits from doing side ops stuff. Now in the games defense in theory you might be able to get all the quality personell you'll need through the main missions, maybe not the super duper exotic stuff, but you know...the fuck do you need to spend money on a proper handgun or a smg for? If you want to go guns blazing Assault Rifles, Snipers, and shotguns all day. And explosives are way more fun for that so rockets, grenade launchers, and good ol fashioned C-4 is top notch.

Plus D-Walker. FUCK YES!

There are aspects of Peace Walker that this game should not have adapted, specificallly the bullshit.

So I reached the first ending the final missions are absolutely incredible. The last base you go into is one of the best designed areas I have ever played. And the story picks up big time, almost too many cutscenes. The so called final boss is fantastic,

Not even a real ending, and I think it's mislabeled as an ending.

All I want to know is, is Hayter in it, and can you jack cars and change the radio channels?

Never jacked cars, you listen to casette tapes that have music on them. You get said casette tapes from outposts.

David Hayter is not in this game in any capacity what so ever, and that's fucking fantastic, because Hayter's last 2 MGS perfromances are fucking trash and Kiefer Sutherland can actually fucking act, and given taht he's done 24, he's already been prepped for Kojima level stupidity. The problem is that they don't use Sutherland enough.

Sutherland's perfectly fine, you're on crack. This better not be one of those "Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite is a valley girl accent/voice" to which any sane human being can only come up with, oh okay Towers has never heard or seen a valley girl, makes sense. He's a fucking massive step up from David Hayter, his voice at least provides a level of gravitas without being all gargley like Hayter needs to make his, which by the way he went into over kill territory with 4 and Peace Walker.

That and at this point as long as Troy Baker or Nolan North aren't voicing the main character I'm happy. Baker is such a dog shit Ocelot in this game. He made Ocelot, fucking Revolver Ocelot boring.

Nice impressions.  I'm glad to know the cut scenes come back with a vengeance.  Can't wait to hear about the final, final boss.  On a scale of 1-10, how crazy did the story become?

As of now, 4,  it was all pretty straightforward. Kind of a weird theme.

I am at the point where I just got Quiet to my base. I've been doing all the side ops as they've been popping up. Been building up my Mother Base pretty well with 2 Command platforms, 2 R&D, 2 Development, 1 Medical, 1 Intel, and 2 of the other which I forget the name of. I love traversing the base getting my soldiers to salute me then putting them in a choke hold and interregating them. This game is so freaking amazing. I can't wait to get to the FOB aspect and I also can't wait for Metal Gear Online.

When does MGO activate?

There's a difference between being better than a crappy shtick voice actor, and being able to act. Keifer Sutherland is definitely better here (not in GZ, though) than David Hayter. That's not hard. However, it's absurd to suggest he can actually act. He has an entire career demonstrating he can do anything but act.

If I used the wrong stereotype to describe an awful performance and writing, that doesn't mean it isn't shit. Just that it gives you a straw to clutch.
