10 I think? There seems to be more downloads after signing up, which is kind of a pain if you dont have a square account.
Oh it doesnt start till 3am, but you can have it all set up and ready to go.
I'm thinking about doing this game and Elder Scrolls Online as well.
I've never gotten into MMO's either but these two have me interested.
So I played for a good 3 hours, its an MMO for better or worse. Someone needs to invent an MMO where the average battle is interesting. For the most part you just use the same attacks over and over. I have video of a battle field where its just a bunch of people running around wacking the most easy shit like lady bugs, its a whole field of this going on, its ridiculous.
Then there are these live event moments where a giant enemy appears and you have like 10 minutes to kill it. Well it quickly became a gang bang with like 30 people surrounding the enemy and poking it with our pointy sticks. There was no stratgey at all it was just a mass beat down. I understand dungeons and later on with parties that is when the strategy comes in but man does the average combat need to be pointless. If someone ever invents an MMO with combat like Dark Souls it would be amazing.
So I have been using the same three attacks I have for a while now, you can randomly help or be helped by people. The best part about the game is easily the world, its gorgeous! So much beauty to explore, loads of fetch quests to do, I know its busy work but it gets you to learn the world at this early stage. I am a lancer right now, at level 10 you can begin switching jobs if you like so i will use the beta to just mess around and see what I like.
There are a bunch of people but no one is communicating which I like. I dont want to feel like I am in someone elses game, its my game there just so happens to be other people in it. So if you guys join up we can experience our very own giant FF adventure, how awesome is that.
Here is a video of me in the battlefield with a fun fight with a giant tree. You can see the moment where I realized no one was helping me and I was like HOLY SHIT RUN!!!! 
Oh if you do join go to beta server 7, that is where I am.

MMO should be spelled MEH.

I am leaning towards getting the game retail when it comes out; there's no way I'm gonna DL 10 gigs + right now on a wi-fi signal!

FFXIV is out now for a little of a week on PS4. Totally free beta. I have littl experience with MMOs so this should be interesting. Everyone says this new version of FFXIV is great so I am curious. I think we need to be on the same server to play so make sure we coordinate. I will sign up now.
