Good conference, a B. Games looked good. Gears was impressive. Dead Rising looks like a ton of fun. Scalebound looks crazy. Recore is interesting. The indie games were cool like we happy few. I love that all games are now on PC too, buy one get both, great.

Tekken 7 looked terrible, and where is Tekken x SF, why is akuma in tekken 7? why did it have constant stops. FFXV demo was bad as well. Just a giant hand going back and forth, wtf was that.

But the big news is that they are killing generations. they are already doing a yearly model, announced the S this year which is just cosmetic changes. But scorpio is next year, very powerful. This is the future, yearly upgrades. I am interested in VR support.

Tekken X Street Fighter is officially on hold, and all but cancelled. Best to pretend that the entire cross-over experiment never happened.

I don't really like the idea of yearly upgrades. It just panders to the people in the industry who want to brag about FLOPs and shit. And debate about a 2 fps difference on Digital Foundry. Or slight resolution advantage.

Bear in mind I haven't been able to watch jack shit when I say the following:

If Xbox Scorpio launches end of 2017 is it even considered a mid-gen refresh? Sure by 360/ps3 gen standards yeah. By normal generations not really?

PS4/XB1 launched end of 2013 unless I'm mistaken which will make them 4 years old by the time Scorpio launches. Which is as long as the OG Xbox and Wii U lasted. (yes Edgecrusher, OG Xbox was receiving support till the end)

The question is when will the next system launch after Scorpio. BTW, did Spencer confirm the name of the system?

I expect Sony to now go back and beef up Neos' specs so they can claim the biggest dick again. What does this mean for Nintendo?

Unless they were planning some uber powerful console, which I doubt, then it better have a good USP. What exactly would having a normal console do for Nintendo now that Scorpio and Neo are a reality anyway? It's not like people are going to switch to using it as their main multiplat unit.

There's no way that consoles are going to turn into "yearly upgrades". I even doubt that they'll upgrade every 2 years. By the time Scorpio launches the Xbox One will be 4 years old. Typical console gens ran for like 5 years. Last gen was the only anomaly which most everyone agrees ran way too long.

Yeah that's what I was saying - for Scorpio anyway.

The difference being that the other consoles I mentioned were canned because of either failing sales/support or in OGXB terms the money per unit it was losing.

Now it's going to become the norm to release a new console every 2 to 3 years? Even when the model you last released is doing well?

I think that there may still be generational jumps but they may happen after one, maybe two, upgrades per gen which will likely happen after no fewer then 3 years after a generations initial launch. I think that this is a good thing as long as they keep the games compatible within each generation at least. People who don't want to upgrade during a generation don't have to.

My question is, why release a slim Xbone when you have virtually a new console coming next year anyway? Talk about confusing people.

And for both Sony and MS....why not just call these your official next-gen systems considering they basically are? These guarantee you're not seeing an XBOX 4 or PS5 for another 4 years. But, these basically are anyway...so just call them such.

I hate how they have annoying ass music over every game at these events...just let me hear what the game sounds like.

Sea of Thieves actually looks really cool.

Liked all the games shown, even though there was no surprises. They all looked great.

I like that the games are coming to PC (because eww consoles), but I would have liked info on how they are going to turn UWP into not garbage. Beyond that Scalebound is my most hyped game because Kamiya Our Lord and Savior, but that footage looked boring as shit. I want to hope that was the coop mode, and just a bad demo, but post Bayonetta 2 platinum has been suspect at best. They need to get their shit together, I came out of E3 actually excited for Nier 2. Dead Rising 4 makes me happy that Frank West is back, but I want to know if they get why Dead Rising 1 works. The absurdity of the sequels has taken away a lot of the tension and thrill of what Dead Rising's systems had, and additionally dropping the time limit was lame in Dead Rising 3. Recore could be cool, not a fan that we got snippets of gameplay instead of a proper demonstration.

LMFAO at a console RTS, having played a match or two of the beta, the depth of a puddle. What a waste of Creative Assembly.

Gears of War 4 looks aight sp wise, I'm excited for the multiplayer. Sp is just, not exactly easy to look forward to going back to stop n pop in a world where Doom is a thing.

Forza Horizon 3 looks fun, not much of a racing game person, but I might give it a go.

We The Happy Few looks cool visually, not sold on the gameplay.

Wanted to see more Cuphead and Inside though

My fucks given for Xbox Scorpio are non-existent. All in all a pretty mixed bag.

I think it's because these new console are going to have a high pricetag as premium versions. How that will hold them back in sales, that is the question.
