We should make this a segment on the podcast.

Yep, once I visited the GGD and found that two thirds on the topics were locked!
What a mess! Should have used print screen and saved it.

No, GS does not deserve our attention.

Hmm, maybe he didn't make it up?
From IGN: Microsoft Planning Blu-ray Xbox 360 Add-on:In an interview with Gizmodo, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was asked if we'll ever see a Xbox 360 with a built in Blu-ray disc drive. "Well I don't know if we need to put Blu-ray in there—you'll be able to get Blu-ray drives as accessories," said Ballmer.
Their reviews have been trash for years. A lot of them seem like they're written by people who don't even enjoy playing games anymore. IGN usually scores to generous for my tastes, but if you take the time to read the reviews you can tell that most of their reviewers love what they do. I don't get that from the GS reviews.
And as far as the forums go. . . man. . . There's a lot of recycled topics in there. I remember a week where I once counted how many times a thread for "do you want a FFVII remake" subject came along and it actually showed up 7 times in a week, and yet none of them ever got locked.
Despite all the low IQ posters and blatent trolls I still think the recycled topic thing gets me more than anything else. I mean, with the hundreds of active forum members that are there you'd think there'd be more interesting and imaginative threads. Nope. Not even close.

This.
Once every 4 months or so I'm so bored I go to GGD's front page. Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa Nelly.
The quality in the GGD is next to none, but there are still some oldschoolers keeping it real. Its just they are few and far between.
Dont even get me started on recycled topics Yoda!!!
If I have to see another "DUURRR WUTS TEH SCARIEST GAME U PLAYD" thread im gonna vomit inside a donkeys mouth and then french kiss him.

Oh, that raises a great question. What is the scariest game you've ever played GME?
Much respect to the guys over there who are still trying.
Why would anyone go into system wars, just ignore it. The GGD is mostly a wasteland now. I only enter topics made by the RoFers and the few other good members of the community. But Rag is now a mod and he is going to try to clean up the place, I predict that he will be insane in about two weeks. You will find him in a corner rocking back and forth talking to himself saying stuff like "whats your favorite game EVER", "whats the most overrated game EVER", "FFVII remake when", "Stuck on stage 6 of Fighting Force, PLEASE HELP", "Which game should I buy?"

That's what happened to me. I was a mod for about a month, it endedup being way too much like a job -- at least the way I was doing it. I've still got a callous from closing all the duplicate NXE threads in the 360 forum and piracy threads in the PSP forum.

If you lasted a month I'm impressed. I was a mod for just over 24 hours before I said, "screw that." It felt like work, and I'll be damned if I do something like that for free.
travo said:It really began to go downhill after the Gerstman debacle. I still have fath in it or I wouldn't go there anymore. There's still a lot of users that I've known for years who make it a good place. Plus Rag is the new sheriff of GGD.
If Skybabie couldn't fix it, no one can.
I miss him.
When I was at GameSpot, I would spend my time in General Games Discussion and System Wars, which worked well enough. I haven't been through the forums since we moved to 1up. Now I understand there would be stupidity regardless, but this is just sad. Let's start with the GGD:
Next Zelda *will* show whether or not the series is on a downhill trend
Naturally before reading the post, the question arises what he's calling a trend. For it to be a trend, you'd assume the last two would have to have sloped downward to begin with. The resulting topic is not even on the level of the typical superiority-complex pseudo-intellectual crap, but just trolling disguised as a question.
Man plays Grand Theft Auto IV for 40 hours...
...discuss? Here's where GG Weekly has spoiled me. That would be good for a throwaway comment on there, not a whole topic. What are you supposed to say?
What is your game of the year?
Could this not have waited until December?
But let's stop there, because System Wars is much, much worse. I'm not even going to link to the threads, I'm just going to start quoting these morons. That's right, morons - MODERATE ME HERE, PEOPLE. MOD-ER-ATE ME HERE.
Way to make up an attachment.
Nice touch on asking the question as if the rest of your post wasn't completely braindead.
Appreciate the games not the scores...for which you just posted all the scores for. 2009? Really? This is the year that does it for you? Unless your memory only goes back a year, I think you've plum lost it. WTF is Fifa 10 doing on there?
Do you people have absolutely no sense of scale or relativity?
2 or 3 games...or is it "one or two"...urge to kill rising...
This is just unbearable. Who are these people?
If you'd like, turn this into a topic on the stupidest things you've ever seen on a message board.
