SHouldn't this be the Punchout vs Infamous thread. With reviews of both

Infamous 25+ hours of gameplay @ $60
Hmm . . .
That about sums it up for me. I don't want to sound like a douche, but Punchout seems too similar to the old games to justify a purchase when you can get the old games for a fraction of the price on the Virtual Console.

That's a valid enough point. The Title defense round will go a long way into making this its own game, but the controls may still feel too similar.
This is a day one purchase for me regardless, but one thing I'm extremely interested in how the motion controls and balance board will combine for a different arcade type experience. If those controls are solid, it's going to make this a completely different game.

Traitor! True Punch-Out fans will only use the NES style controls!

For those who are interested all three IGN branches have scored the game:
NA - 9.2
UK - 9.0
AU - 8.6
So the lesson learned is so long as you live in the Northern Hemisphere is looks like a must buy. And even if you don't it's still a pretty good game.
Now the only question is which game will Dvader buy? Punch Out or Infamous??? Stay Tuned to find out!!
What do you mean, in the Northern Hemisphere it looks like a must buy?
8.6 is a must buy to me.

You may only have a PS3, but that's no reason to lower your standards, Darth!

I have no interest in Punchout whatsover. But in the games defense, there is a lot more to it than 2 hours of gameplay and a rehashed game.

I was going by what Bozon said in their podcast a couple weeks ago. He said he tore through most of the game in only an hour.

He tried one mode and didn't complete it to unlock the extra stuff. Check the review in the thread, there is tons of stuff. Still doesn't interest me though.

The game doesn't interest me either.
It's 6 hours to do the normal Punchout mode and defend your belt then there is multiplayer but also Exhibition mode on top.
We know what you're thinking. In any other game, Exhibition mode is the bit where you just have a one-off game and there's no real point to it really. That's not the case here. Here you get to choose from the opponents that you've already beaten and fight them again, only this time you're given three challenges before you fight. Glass Joe (and we mean easy Glass Joe, not the tougher version) becomes much harder when you have to beat him without ducking, dodging or blocking a punch. Or how about beating Von Kaiser in only five punches? It's a great way to extend the games lifespan, and we defy anyone to say that it's anything other than insanely hard to complete every challenge for every fighter.
You're looking at 8-10hrs? Still not great compared to Infamous 12-25 hrs (according to the producer) plus Beta etc. I just don't like mis-information.
Or Punchout
