Can we use Vader as a sample indicator of how VR adoption is going? Is anyone else here using VR?

I would like to, but it needs to be cheap as heck with ubiquitous content.

Only crazy people are adopting so yes use me.

I really need to sit and write about this again. I have a ton to say.

Lol, I've played tons of hours of games this month like 2 was in VR. It needs games. I've seen and done cool stuff like visit the valve office in VR where they used this crazy camera tech go recreate the office into a 3D model so detailed I can read every magazine cover they have in the wall. Since its a model and not a picture u can move in the world. Great stuff.

Played this ride a dragon game demo which is this big time RPG (that's what they say, it's going to be awful), where you walk around a small town and talk to NPCs. Well I have hands, they just stand there, guess what I did... Yup groped everyone. I man was talking to me and I punched his balls, I put my finger in his nose. I grabbed some woman's breasts as she yammered on about something. It was quite hilarious.

Then came the game part where you need to sit and it simulates you on the back of a dragon which you control with a staff with one hand and you fire a weapon with the other. So it's like panzer dragoon except you rotate and shoot and control the dragon all at once while flying, yeah I almost got sick on this one. It's also just slow and boring.

I got climbey which is a platformer where you climb and jump all over. This is an exercise as fake climbing is surprisingly tiring. You hold out your hands above your head and simulate monkey bars, not easy. Jumping is awful you have to pretend to move your arms like you are running to move then extend both arms out press triggers to basically grab the air and swing down releasing the grab at the right angle to basically slingshot you into the air. Not easy. The leveks are cool as they go very high in the sky and have all sorts of moving platforms. There is a level editor as well.

PLayed this story game where you are some spy and you need to murder a traitor, turns out you were brainwashed by theCIA and you just murdered your own dad. It was a simple adventure game where instead of pointing and clicking you walk around and open desks, pull out and read files and shit. The interaction is still neat, it still feels magical to reach out and interact with objects in a game like the real world.

There is this horror game where fucking killer clowns hunt you down but they only move when you look away. So there are tense moments where the clown is in the room with you and you need to look at the desk or whatever to get what you need but every time you look down it gets closer. It's stupid but scary.

The best demo I played recently was dead hungry by the pixel junk guys. Here you run a food truck and zombies try to eat you. To survive you have to cook burgers, fries, pizza and throw it at them. Fat sumo zombies take more food. It's super fun and frantic trying to grab patties and putting them on the grill while making sure the fries don't burn. It's super intense, funny and fun to do.

Vile, depraved beast.

Did your try poking someones anus through their pants? It's a Kakashi Sensei move from Naruto.

I think this will prove a big problem in VR.  Devs can't possible create a reaction for every NPC to every possible thing gamers could do to them.  it's hard enough with regular controls, where your actions are limited to a dozen or so possibilities.

Just have the character react by saying "Stop touching my balls" regardless of what the player is actually doing.
