Don't be like THIS me, and buy a console just for two games.
Halo 5 is awesome but its not $400 awesome. And Tomb Raider is coming to Steam.
I wanted to play more last night but I ended up playing Dragon Age 3 too long.....ahh the joys of playing numerous games all at once. But, I'm up to mission 3 and I really dig everything about it so far. I said it before and I'll say it again...I think the split between Bungie and MS worked out for both sides. You could see Bungie was getting tired of working on Halo, and 343 has taken the series in a really cool direction since H4. Its subtle...I mean its still Halo...but all the little tweaks they've made have added some color to Bungie's formula and stopped any staleness from setting in.

Too busy playing awesome Halo 5 to say anything.
Personally I think that there's a lot of great games that make it worth owning an Xbox One.
- Halo 5
- Forza 6
- Dead Rising 3
- Sunset Overdrive
- Halo The Master Chief Collection
- Gears of War Ultimate Edition
Yes and yes. He built a PC, and you're insane anyway. Insane....FOR PUSSY
!
Black Friday is around the corner so the deals will be cheaper, so you have incentive to wait.
If you're not gaming on PC: Ori and The Blind Forest is pretty fucking rad, The Forza games are good if you like car games, Sunset Overdrive is pretty different from anything else on the market mechanically, and yeah they got Halo.
Problem: The console lacks exclusives wise, especially if your PC can play dope ass Ori and The Blind Forest. It's been Halo and racing cars for the better part of 2 years. Dead Rising 3 has atrocious framerate and is devoid of everything that makes the first game special, and the 2nd game fun. Ryse is a bad game. Sunset Overdrive falls into every short coming most open world games do. Master Chief Collection is a fucking remaster and it was broken. Gears is a remaster right now, and Halo 5's mp is rad. But it's the 7th time they made a FPS out of this series.
If I got to do it all over again, I would have waited until next year to pony up for a XBOX One. Halo and a proper Gears would be out, Platinum's new game would be out with Scalebound, Remedy's new game, things like Recore, Below, and Cuphead would be further along. If you have a PS4 or a PC, the current X1 library amounts to a dust collector.
edgecrusher said:Dead Rising & Gears are on PC though. Didn't you recently build a pc Aspro? Or am I insane?
Dead Rising 3 was a pretty poorly done port on the PC and GoWUE is markedly improved over the original. Anyway I stand by my opinion that I think that the library of games on Xbox One make it a console worth owning but to each their own.
Yeah I play predominantly on PC these days. Played a fair bit of Ori and the Blind Forest.
I don't even know if we have black friday here in AU, will definately start looking into bundles though.
Or get a Retron 5
not bad. About $200 worth of games thrown in.
I read what the ending to this game is, and I laughed. Liquid is trying to get me to play the campaign, and I'm like nah no thanks. Been sticking to multiplayer.
I'm not a fan of the maps so far in Team Slayer. Plaza is great, good fun map, but the rest of them suffer from exactly what I didn't like about Halo 4's maps, they are a bit too vanilla and samey. 343 in their goal for balance creates maps that are symmetrical mostly, that all feel like they flow the same, at least that's how it was in Halo 4 sans BTB maps and Complex, but 5 gets around this because the new movement mechanics forced their maps to have vertical elements. Still the maps aren't catching my interest the way Colossus did in Halo 2, or Lock out, or Headlong, or High Ground in Halo 3, Powerhouse in Halo Reach, even the bad maps in Bungie's games, the atrocious, garbage, fucking crime against anyone that wants to find joy in their games maps that were things like Paradiso or Isolation, at least had an identity to them.
343's maps just are whatever to me. Could be because I prefer Bungie's art team vs what 343 does, but whatever.
Also Orion is a really stupid map to have a Railgun and Sniper on. The amount of times people just camp in that one spawn spot, and play the duck n cover game with the range weapons because it's easy to spawn wreck someone is ridiculous. I feel like the map would benefit more from the power weapons actually be close quarters weapons.
Otherwise Fathom and Eden are solid for slayer
Breakout is a lot fun; enjoy that mode, Swat is always a decent warm up mode, and I would like Team Arena to be everything but slayer since we don't have a proper objective playlist anyway.
Warzone is fun as fuck. Me, Chris, n Blab had this dope match the other day where we got pinned in our base, they owned all the bases, and slowly began coming back on our points lead, took the lead while we were stuck in there, and then we broke out, got one spot, and it became this nail bitter finish where the next team to beat this big boss was going to win, so it was just power weapon and vehicle spam. Came in hot with a wraith and we got the W. Shit was intense.
Oh by the way everyone that played Tittyfall with us knows how much we ragged on that jpeg those devs put in for space during the evac parts, that shit has competition. There is a waterfall thing in one of the halo 5 maps, that is so butt ugly it is astounding that shit even made it into a full release. Like someone sat there and said, yep, that's good enough.
The lack of features that are going to go full 'Splatoon' about it pisses me off to no end, because I ragged on that game, for Nintendo pulling scam bullshit where they sold people an early access game, and told them "you get free updates", when it's really no bitch, we're giving you the rest of your game.
Crazy how this game doesn't feel like a big event anymore. None of my Xbox owning friends got it even though they used to be huge halo fans. They are all playing destiny instead.

Did they migrate to CoD?
I stopped at Halo 3 when the series actually ended with Master Chief dying IIRC.

Too much of the same thing.
So... this is weird. I don't have a console that can play a newly relased Halo game.
I bought the XBzero for the original Halo, and have always bought the nubered games at launch.
And apparently five doesn't suck, so it certinaly has me thinking. I mean, I want Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5 and Tomb Raider, it's starting to make distorted gamer sense to finally get a XB3.
But enough about that, for those of you playing Halo 5, say some shit...
