Carefully re-reading your post, it seems you are.

I was only joking about that one....and half joking about Sonic.
I figured you were joking. I wasn't, though. Wild World is the only AC I really enjoyed. The 1st one was okay, but too limited, and I didn't enjoy the others much.edgecrusher said:I was only joking about that one....and half joking about Sonic.
Final Fantasy 5 and 6. Really good games, fucking lame ass franchise.
I will agree with whoever is saying that at the least, 3d Zelda isn't even remotely close to great. Ocarina of Time is special, in terms of how important it is to 3d gaming, but as a game, I'd still argue it's more good than great. Majora's Mask is a mixture of genius and contemptable bullshit, Wind Waker is kind of mediocre, Twilight Princess is good but bloated, and Skyward Sword is a mess.
As far as Nintendo IPs are concerned, Zelda isn't even worthy of Mario's overalls, much less being Nintendo's best franchise. I much prefer Metroid to Zelda any day of the week, and Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, FZero, and Smash are all enjoyable franchises in their own right. Yeah every now and then I got a Brawl out of them, but none of them gave me a Skyward Sword either. On the flip side 2d Zelda has some genuinely fantastic games between the original, Link to the Past, and my hard on for Link's Awakening. Fuck I'll take the Oracle games and Link Between Worlds over what 3D Zelda has offered.
Not even the best Halo. That game had an entire 2nd half that is kind of wack. Halo 2 had its dope multiplayer. It's campaign being trash is irrelevant to how bitchin that games map selection was.
Uncharted 2.
Not great, but it's in a series where everything else is mediocre or utter shit.
Resident Evil 4.
Not trolling. And maybe RE doesn't quite fall under "series that overall wasn't any good," but hear me out. I have much love for the RE series, but I've popped in the older ones recently and...well...yeah. The PS1-era games just aren't great anymore, and I wonder if they ever really were or if I'm just remebering the good times I had with them. It seems that you can't go home again. REmake and RE Zero are alright in bits, but RE4 holds up right this moment despite turning 12 this year. I liked 5 and 6 and am making my way through 7, but 4 has stood and will continue standing the test of time.
I agree in the sense that re4 is consistently perfectly paced. The other games just aren't as good.
If we're talking in a pure gameplay sense and including the Drakengard games I'd argue Nier: Automata.
And no this isn't to pimp my review...
