No LBP, you fail.
The year produced my two favorites of the gen though and GTA and Fallout so definetly a standout year for the HD generation.
Out of curiosity do you still conside GTAIV to be good? I've just seen a lot of blacklash against the game since it originally came out, and many people saying that it hasn't aged well at all.
I'd say it's still good. And I didn't even play what's arguably the best part of IV which was Gay Tony.
I still enjoy GTA, but it sure hasn't aged well. I remember thinking how amazing it looked back in 2008.

Yeah its fine.
None of the GTA's have really aged well in terms of graphics or controls. But GTA 4 is still a fun game to mess with. It was always overrated, but a high quality game regardless.

GTAIV/X.
The last year I gave a 10 to a game, gave it to two. Best games of the generation came out this year. This was the year the PS3 said everyone is my bitch.
1. Metal Gear Solid 4
2. LittleBigPlanet
3. Fallout 3
4. GTA4
5. Devil May Cry 4
6. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
7. Dead Space
8. Castlevania Order of Eccelsia
9. Prince of Persia
10. Sonic Unleashed
Very top heavy, the best games were incredible, rest of the year not so much. Not sure what makes for a better year more spread out great games or a chunk of the greatest games ever.
Honorable mentions: Gears of War 2, Mirror's Edge, Far Cry 2
Not a bad year. Not one of the best either. MGS 4 stole the show, as did a very pretty new Grand Theft Auto.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
