The 45C a few years ago was pleasant. Didn't even need the heater on, but low 40s isn't that good unless there's high humidity too. I'm thinking the places that get 50+ would be preferable, but they'd probably get freezing cold during the winter or even during the night. Still, it'd make for a blissful day before I died of hyperthermia during the night, at least.
Water and heat on the other hand is not a good combination; if the water is cold then I'll just be going from one extreme to the next, and if the water is beyond air temperature then it's a good way to actually get too hot. Well, if such a thing were possible. As long as I didn't faint whilst submerged I suppose it wouldn't really matter too much.
Suggestion: dig yourself a dam, and voila you have a pool, except that due to it being a dam, it's far more interesting.

It was so cold here the other day I slipped on the ice and used my bare hand to prop myself up and some skin very painfully came off as it peeled onto the ice.
