2. I'm very excited about VC games the most. What sizes do the SD cards come in? I know Wii doesn't have a internal HDD, which sucks.
1. You don't have to create an account for Wii. There are no accounts to setup other than linking your Club Nintendo account to the Wii Shop Channel (this feature automatically registers your purchased VC/WiiWare games with Club Nintendo).
Friend Codes are listed in each game; System Friend Code is located in your Wii's adress book.
2. The Wii sorta does have an internal hard drive, just in the form of built-in 512MB flash memory (some of that space is reserved for system updates, though). You can store a lot of VC games, and several large WiiWare titles on there, but you'll eventually run out of space.
The current revision on Wii supports any SD card size from 32MB to 32GB HDSC. I have a 2GB card that I bought online for $5; I have all of my VC/WiiWare games stored on it, and I haven't even come close to filling a half of it yet.

And are these on the VC also?
- Tetris Attack No
- Pokemon Puzzle League Yes
- Starfox 64 Yes
List of Virtual Console games (North America)
Congrats on the Wii man, personally I'd buy none of the VC stuff (but then I have most of it in the real world. No sohrtage of quality retail games out there, but you know those already.

Yeah, what a bummer that there is no Tetris Attack yet. Hopefully it comes out.

Super Mario RPG is on the VC so get it if you haven't already played it.

That's weird, just going into Internet under the Wii System settings should detect any open network.
Oh! Be sure to set your router to transmit the wireless on channel 1 or 11.

That is all!
Oh and you need to know about using it with HDTVs. Just dont. An HDTV will try to artificially scale up the picture, blowing 480 lines over anything up to 1080 lines. It's like stretching a picture and losing all detail and sharpness.
IF you have to make sure you have component cables but it barely does anything. Best thing to do is research your HDTV purchase first and make sure it has uber scaling for any SD source.
What else do you need to know? Oh, a strong light source shining either on the sensor bar or front of the remote can cause IR interference, so if needs be close half a curtain when sunlight is streaming into your living room.
Update your wii will all the channels apart from everybody votes and the horoscope channel. You should get the internet channel for free now. Keep everything but news and weather on an SD card, like Raven I have a small SD card, mine is 1gb and it holds everything I have including wiiware and is barely halfway. You can buy 32gb cards but those are expensive. However, 8-12gb cards are very cheap on amazon from sellers if you search around.
When you test your wireless connection through the wii menu it will ask you if you want to update but generally if there is an important update they will message you.
With motion controls, sometimes you think that the game is broken, some games require you to have the remote pointed at the screen without really telling you, so be aware of that.
Oh and the batteries run out really quickly so buy rechargables, you can get a charger and a set of 4 AA batteries on ebay for like $10. Make sure you get high capacity batteries for use with high drain devices 2500mah or something. Mine last about a week and a half with one charge and you can recharge them thousands of times.
I'd recommend this for your Wiimotes - The Nyko charge station is pretty darn handy. It puts a charge that'll last you about a full day of playing into the Wiimote. Plus it gives you a good place to keep your wiimotes when you're not using them.
You can't really use them with the rubber Wiimote covers, but frankly I haven't have much use for them. As long as you're not swinging it around like an idiot, you won't need them.

I actually prefer using the Wii Remote covers. Energizer now has an induction charger that charges with the remote covers on and MotionPlus attached. Unfortunately, it costs more at $43, but it would be considerably more convenient.
IGN reviewed this charger, and gave it a score of 9.2.
I thought about getting one, but I'm too cheap. I just use rechargeable AA batteries instead (4 batteries for $15 w/ charger).

And he throws them at baby seals when he's done!
Anyway, I made this topic because of course I have a few questions. It's not really about the games since I know what to get, but it's other things like:
2. I'm very excited about VC games the most. What sizes do the SD cards come in? I know Wii doesn't have a internal HDD, which sucks.
And finally, the VC games. I know Nintendo has tons of them now. These are the games I want:
And are these on the VC also?
- Tetris Attack
- Pokemon Puzzle League
- Starfox 64
And are there any other VC games you guys recommend?I guess I'm excited about this. I still have some Nintendo fanboyism lingering inside me, even with the whole casual boom.
Anyway, any help will be great! Thanks.
