On the GGweekly something telling you what page your last post was on would be great (or first unread post after your last read one).
And why no forum?
And why no forum?
I said nothing for or against a forum, I asked for desired features and specifics on such features.
Spoilers I wanted to have early on, but couldn't really get an elegant solution. I should be able to add an uglier version though, something like
text goes here
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile^ the problem with that aside from adding pseudo-code to the WYSIWYG portion of the editor is that you won't be able to edit your post properly.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileWell I think an icon next to a news story that you can click and it will insert the story link at the top of your post and then you can comment on the story below it.
I think maybe if people want to go down the preview route you've got to start thinking about collecting boxart for each game and even daubing the place with imagery from various games etc.
If people are really serious about editorial content than it's going to take a lot of work and organisation and commitment. I don't get that impression.
I wouldn't mind there being an editorial opinion piece each week, just a short article maybe between 500-1000 words as a contribution. Doing proper editorial content isn't just (write what you like) though. You have to have planning, ideas sessions and an editorial director. You have to work on your writing and structure everything properly etc.
Since we aren't getting paid and have other commitments, I don't think it's going to be worth the effort.
What I wouldn't mind is a Movie Geek Weekly page similar to the way the games news functions but focused on film news and chat.

I expressed the same editorial concerns from the start, but the idea kept coming back. If it has fallen out of favour, that's fine -- so either for or against, we should hear opinion on this.
Here's how I'd see it going if we did: Those with editorial permissions can write and submit articles to the director who will edit then publish the piece. If major editing is required, it can be returned with notes.
This would allow for a much faster turnover on editorial content and limit the amount of required writing ability so long as the content of the article is sufficient. I could handle the editing.
This site is by the people for the people, so whereever it goes is merely by popular demand.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileEditorial should come later. My original plan was to make it look like a newspaper, but it was a long term vision. The idea was to gather all the news and give a short summary, not editorials and opinions. News should be objective.

Hopefully very soon I'll be able to focus on the big series of updates to the site, and I'm looking for feature requests and more importantly specifics with regard to those features.
For example, Editorials and Previews are on request, but what about them? Is there anything special or extra that should be included besides essentially making them categorized and officially processed blogs/
Layout-wise, is there anything you think should be immediately available on all pages? Any ideas on how to improve structure of news discussion, if any?
And, of course, anything random that may come to mind.
