Faces to compare to the next generation consoles

Faces are often the most important graphical representation of a game. So when the next generation comes along I would like to see how they compare.

This gen we have had some decent faces, post some pics of the best you have seen.

Some games like Batman and RE5 use enhanced graphics for the cutscenes which look better than in game yet close enough that it doesn't really bother you. Seeing how well you can do faces this gen, how much further can they push it next gen? Will it all be about animation instead?

Hair is good enough.

Sleeping dogs has some good faces but this is probably not real time or its the PC version or a cutscene.

That first Yakuza hairshot perfectly illustrates the fakeness of hair in games. The edges are done more realistically, but the rest looks painted on at best.

Yeah hair and faces should improve next gen. Of course though it'll depend on how much of the resources the other aspects of the game are being used at the time. For instance a one vs. one fighting game can have much better hair and face modelling then an say an RPG with numerous people and other things going on in the background.

Developers were still struggling with hair this generation. I remember Sucker Punch saying that that is why InFamous dude is bald.,Gears of War dude has a bandana, AC dude has a cowell. Plenty of counter examples, like Nathan Drake.

The hair in Yakuza is impressive, but in motion they look like shiny helmets.

Its all about animation, NOTHING comes close to LA Noire's faces. Its insane how realistic it is not cause of the look but the way they move naturally. Its also well known actors and honestly its easy to forget you are watching a virtual version of them.
