Oh, you seem to be wanting more platforming in your mickey game and less platforming in your DK game.
I thought that you weren't a big 2d platforming person, so I didn't get the Mickey comment.

I saw the GS stage demo, EPIC!!!!!!

I can listen to Spector speak for hours, he is so enthusiastic, he explains the game very well. He said it should be like 8-12 hours in length but with many different endings and there is no way you can see the full game in one go. The moral choice will play a major part in it.

Steel are you back on board?

The only thing that slightly bothers me is that there only seems to be platforming in the 2D sections. The rest of it looks like an adventure game?

Which is why I am more excited by it than ever.

Yep, he's probably one of the few speakers who appear honestly excited about the stuff they're making, unlike all the scripted one liners and jokes from other developers. Hope it works out well...

I love 2D platforming but I'd take a decent 3D platformer any day.

What I wanted from metroid was a 3D donkey kong game with as much, if not more platforming than their metroid games and with cool environments with all sorts of tricks and puzzles too. These guys can do 3D platforming, no doubt in my mind. And they are some of the best level designers out there too. I wanted to see that in 3D. If I wanted DKC I could just buy any of the 3 SNES games already out there. I got 2 and it was enough for me.

One thing that is starting to bug me is that you aren't painting the environment like okami. You seem to be shooting out paint like mario's water pack in Mario Sunshine.

LOL No that's been done to death right now. You don't want Zelda to be a Okami clone which is basically a Zelda clone.

I want to ride a motherfucking dragon

What the? Zelda? I mean Epic Mickey. It's suppossed to be a game where you use paint and thinner. You use a brush for paint, not a gun.

Oh, got a bit mixed up, did not see anything about Epic Mickey.

But still Zelda copying Okami, that copied Zelda is just funny.

But on the other hand the way ink works here is very disney cartoon-like. It squirts and spills like liquids do in their cartoons. Also maybe lacking proper painting mechanics means they focus on actual gameplay instead of control gimmicks Nyaa

UPDATE - Tron Evolution is coming to the Wii. Looks like this news snuck out during E3! Check out some footage here.

Performance Designed Products LLC (PDP), an industry leader in designing and manufacturing products for all major video game platforms, announced today that it has collaborated with Disney Consumer Products (DCP) to create unique game controllers for Disney Epic Mickey and TRON: Evolution, two amazing video games coming from Disney Interactive Studios. PDP is releasing TRON controllers for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation3 (PS3) system and the Microsoft Xbox computer entertainment system, as well as a special secondary Wii controller and charging system for the Wii remote for Disney Epic Mickey. The controllers and Wii charging system will be available to consumers at the launch of the respective games.

Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure platforming game for the Wii™ console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world with lands inspired by Disney’s animated films and theme parks, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world and determine Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero. To commemorate Mickey’s debut on WiiTM console, PDP and DCP are bringing to market two very special items to complement the game: a Paintbrush controller and a Wii remote charging system. The Disney Epic Mickey Wii secondary controller is designed to resemble the magical paintbrush that Mickey wields in the game world, complete with wood-grained texture and soft, safe foam tip. The Disney Epic Mickey Wii remote charging system is something no Disney collector should be without. The charging system features a removable Mickey Mouse battling his nemesis, the Phantom Blot, and comes with rechargeable batteries for a Wii remote.

The official TRON controllers from PDP are multiplatform, bringing the look and feel of the TRON universe directly to the hands of gamers. Based on the designs of both the film and game, the TRON controllers will feature unique, performance-enhancing contours and design, rubber grips with a soft-touch finish and perforated details and light-up accents reminiscent of the TRON universe to illuminate late-night gaming sessions. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 controllers are corded controllers with precision parts and vibration support, while the Wii controller is wireless. All three controllers carry and MSRP of $49.99 and will be available this fall in time for the release of TRON: Evolution -The Video Game.

Why is the TRON wii remote wireless and the others wired?

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 controllers are corded controllers with precision parts and vibration support, while the Wii controller is wireless.

Epic Mickey footage!  Great look to it, I love how the captured the feel of the old cartoons. That said all the gameplay shown looks very simplistic. The platforming is as simple as it gets. The little bit of combat in the 3D world looks like the most basic of action/adventure combat systems. I think having all these elements together will make it shine but individually not sure any will be special.

I was so in love with the concept art (despite knowing too well there was no way in hell the final game was going to look like that) that I have only a very, very faint interest in seeing how will this one turn out.

It still looks good though IMO
