It's a good game entirely saved by some good boss fights and bcause it feels good. It is, by far, and away their shallowest combat system since they started making these Souls shit. Souls isn't like a complex battle system, but it has a few things going for it namely with its stamina management, interesting neutral n positioning game. Sekiro because it's built on the deflect, means who fucking cares about positioning anymore. Just get n their grill, and get ready to time your parries. Timing challenges has become what their games have become more n more since Artorias, and especially since Bloodborne, but this game is eggregious for how dominating its defensive tools are. Because the alternative attacks that you can't parry, have a simon says answer to them, and only that answer be it jump step on the enemy or a 30 frame window to mikiri counter. In theory the game could have a neat health v Posture mechanic going on, but that's really not the case for enemies, you're gonna win by posture on all of em. And for the player posture becomes a pseudo meter, because you're gonna back up out of fights for a stretch to heal or save yourself anyway, guess what you end up doing when you are away if you stand still (because again, you don't actually have to worry about positioning a lot), standing still and bringing down your posture meter to a more manageable level. If this is what From Software would make if they actually had to make an action game proper, pls don't. It's bad enoug hthat their combat is outclassed by Nioh and Monster hunter as it is, but that combat again at least has some strong strengths they are build to get the most out of. This one? not so much.
Working on ER, I'm happy Souls combat is back. I just wish that rolls weren't as cheap (cost, not unfairness) in this game, but we part of the spam roll meta these days.
I have since Beat Elden Ring and Tunic.
Working on lame ass Persona 5 Royale.
After almost three months, almost exclusively playing on the weekends, Bug Fables is finished. What a ride.
It's a 3 hour game approx
Very adult language. Like a graphic adventure with 2 douche bags convincing other animals to raid stores during a zombie apocalypse.
Pretty fun overall but the main mechanic is like encumbered status in an Elder scrolls game.
The game essentially makes you do light maths to decide what items to take or trade.
Couple of mildly irritating control decisions. But humour and a fantastic art style pulled it through.
They even had a Seinfeld Art Vandalay joke. I'm awaiting part 2. 😊
Just finished Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and wow, what a fantastic game. Combat is a lot of fun. Story is very well written with tons of funny dialog and banter. Characters really come across well and really emulate the movies nicely. Also a very nice looking game with nice locals. I really hope they do another one. 9/10.
Edit: Oh yeah the music track is excellent. The ‘80’s songs just add tremendously to the experience.
Much better than I expected in the early stages.
At the end of the game you get a Zelda style Dungeon as big as the rest of the game combined. Real emotional weight to the ending.
It's just a consistent quality game throughout.
Could do with voice acting and some of the items could appear more clearly on screen.
Solid 8/10 from me.
Just finished Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Another excellent game. Very charming and very fun. In typical Nintendo fashion it’s mostly an easy game but does have some challenge if you want to get and do everything. I don’t mind this approach and it can be a pretty relaxing way to spend some time with. 9/10

I’ve been playing on and off since it came out. Overall I think I may have spent over 20 hours with it. My file says that I’m 86% complete. Rescued all the waddle dee’s in the first two worlds. Have some scattered throughout the rest of the levels I’ll try to collect. I’m going to keep playing and trying to get 100%. Don’t know if I’ll do it all but so far I’m still interested in playing more and keep trying.
What's the town area like? It looked a bit like a Paper Mario town.

Small little town area that grows when you rescue Waddle Dees. You can buy stuff, try out weapons, expand them when you find blueprints for them, play a variety of mini games, battle it out in a coliseum, etc.
Game sucker punched me at the end with a twist I didn't see coming.
This is a totally solid adventure game.
8/10 and I'm down for a sequel.
Persona 5 is a shit game. No nice way of putting that. I am retroactively offended for every FF7 mega nerd that's been catching heat from Persona mega nerds, much less the Persona 5 mega nerds. At least FF7's cast is good and the story has a consistent theme its built around and tries to make good on. Persona 5 in contrast boneless and botches almost all the confidant stories. And for what? For a less fun battle system than press turn? Why? And its like a 100 hours long? why?
Rubbish.
My favorite thing about it though is how well the theme and style is integrated into all aspects of the game. The colors, music, art style, etc just fits in to every piece of the game from the opening intro, to the menus, and pretty much any other aspect. It's seamless and just a joy to look at.
With all that being said though, there was no reason on Earth this game needed to be 100 hours. Not a goddamn one. Once I hit the 60 hour mark I was struggling to push on. And while I did enjoy it, I just don't see myself ever picking it up again, because I have no interest in devoting that much time to replay a game that can't offer me a markedly different experience the second time around.

How is tunic?

If it weren't for the puzzles within the puzzles that remind me of the Fez bullshit, I'd say the game was an okay zelda knock off. But that stuff does elevate the game. Combat isn't too hot. There is a stamina gauge, but ti doesn't dictate how often you can attack. Only how often you can roll and block. But by nature its pretty easy to just get back from an enemy and build your stamina gauge back. So I don't think it actually adds anything to combat, other than a small thing keeping you slightly more honest than 2d zelda would. Its a far cry from competing with Link Between Worlds in dungeon quality or intended puzzle quality. The game within the game is hella cute tho, and the real appeal is that you start with so little explained to you, that some of it is piecing together the language of the game. And that's fun. Its worth a gamepass dive at least, its on gamepass for both PC n xbox if you have it.
The sequel to the first game. Both games are really high quality and much meatier than most adventure games.
Beautiful art style, excellent voice acting. Hilarious moments.
I still prefer the first one as it was funnier and I liked the premise more.
The sequel is still a great experience but there are a couple of confusing bits that I had to use a guide for.
Really hope the team keeps building great adventure games.
I finished Firewatch this weekend and really enjoyed it. I cant justify the $20 price tag, a little too steep for the content. However, its free on Game Pass snd totally worth it if you have a PC or Xbox. I need more games like it. Recommendations?

Sounds about what I expect, the fez like discovering the deep puzzles is what intrigues me cause the demo I played didn't seem like the actual gameplay was all that great.
Obviously there's tons more content for more runs.
Really like the game. Love the synth music, colour palette and art style. Situations you get into are very interesting.
