Same here....I'm really tempted to pick it up. Only because I keep hearing its the game AC3 was supposed to be.
I think the developers really intended for AC3 to be the big leap they said it was, but had to cut out a lot of the good shit because they were rushed to release by their Ubisoft masters. Hence why people are saying AC4 is so much better...they had an extra year to incorporate all the shit they wanted to do in AC3.
I'll probably end up getting it.....ugh.
But they said that AC3 was going to be the big leap game and that never happened.
I really enjoy visiting historical areas in virtual reality. My parents went on a trip to Italy and when I saw the pictures I was like "I went there! and there! and there! In a video game." The settings are great, the gameplay is fine, good I would say. I enjoy finding a bunch of hidden stuff in the game world.
That's only happened to me once, when the Walking Dead crew went to Savannah.

This past weeks episode was very TLOU. What game is in Savannah?
On topic, a new AC game for Christmas has become a tradition, sort of something I've looked forward to the last four years.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileDvader said:This past weeks episode was very TLOU. What game is in Savannah?
The Walking Dead episode 4 and 5.
I don't really want more AC games. The series peaked with the second one and went slowly downhill through the Ezio saga, only to take a cliff dive with AC III.

Good point, how many other games are set in the past and I don't mean Victorian fantasy.

But why?
Okay I have to admit the ludicrous story does make me want to see what happens next regarding the ancients. It's drip fed but it was so ludicrous at the end of Ac3 I just felt like I need to see how it pans out. Even if I'm not enjoying the game.

How about visiting those areas in reality?

How about you give me a few thousand dollars.
Because it's an internal battle raging in my head. I didn't think much of AC3 last year and yet here I am feeling myself inexplicably drawn to AC4. I want it, but I can't pin down just why I want it.
So here is my thought process and I'd like to know yours too:
a) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because of the magnificent story.
What? No! The stories are average, sometimes worse than average, never really good.
b) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because of the great stealth based gameplay
No, the stealth is horrible, the controls suck
c) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because of the massive game world.
Not really, there's not that much to do, unless you count endless repetition as a plus
d) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because of the excellent combat
......
......
...
e) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because of the great platforming
Er.... maybe 2 had some good stuff, but 3 was awful, unplanned, pointless, eh.
f) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because of the awesome graphics
The graphics are not hot. Even for an open world game.
g) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because of the hype
Maybe, maybe.
h) I keep wanting Assasins Creed games because it comes out close to Christmas and I can get it gifted to me free.
Probably. Like a bad one night stand, I'll regret getting this I'm sure but it will probably happen anyway. *facepalm*
