Now Konami
Konami Corporation released its financial results today for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014, revealing operating income of 10.3 billion yen ($106 million) and a 37 percent decrease in video game sales at 10.8 million units.
Konami posted 217.6 billion yen ($2.13 billion) in net revenue and 6.2 billion yen ($60 million) in net income. The company’s forecast expects a year-over-year 2.7 percent increase in net revenues, a 1.1 percent increase in net income and 16.5 percent operating income for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015.
>Konami’s Digital Entertainment business section recorded net revenues of 104.3 billion yen ($1.02 billion) and operating income of 11.7 billion yen ($114 million). The company’s soccer titles brought in 3.89 million units for the year, while Metal Gear titles hit 3.37 million units. PlayStation 3 titles contributed to 49 percent of sales, PlayStation 4 at 8 percent and Xbox One at 3 percent.
The company reports “solid sales” of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, Professional Baseball Spirits 2014 and Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card games. Sustained revenue contributions came from key SNS titles such as Dragon Collection and a continued growth in number of native app downloads.
Down from last year, soccer killed them this year, almost half the sales. Metal Gear rose up a bit. Obviously their MGSV year will be huge for them. Nothing on Castlevania, not a good sign. Those PS3 sales. Hey look at PC, how cute.

Its a great game dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Just not as good as most RE games.
Yup RE6 is 100k away from RE4 from becoming the number 2. But RE4 wii sold 100k and we dont have digital sales of the HD versions and that PC version just hit so I think RE4 will remain second place.
RE6 selling well is like Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness selling well. Who fuckin' cares?

It was a fine game and gives Capcom plenty of money to make a great RE7. They know the reaction 6 got, they wont screw up again.

You have way too much faith in modern day Capcom.

Probably. But it maybe a reboot which is what I have wanted so lets see.
I loved RE6 as well and am very eager to see RE7. Also good to see Dead Rising 3 do well as it's another excellent game, same with Dragon's Dogma. I really want a DD2. So can't wait for Ultra Street Fighter IV. Viva la Capcom.

Everything is awesome! I love it all! High five indeed.
First Capcom
Capcom released its financial results for the year ended March 31, 2014, revealing both sales and profits were up for the company in part due to the success of Monster Hunter 4.
The game publisher noted sales of 102.2 billion yen (roughly $1 billion) for the full year, with profits of 3.4 billion yen ($33.8 million), an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous fiscal year.
Capcom highlighted the “explosive popularity” of Monster Hunter 4 as well as strong sales for Dead Rising 3 and Resident Evil Revelations for its successful year. Monster Hunter 4 launched in September 2013 in Japan and has since sold 4.1 million units, making it Capcom’s sixth best selling video game.
Likewise, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen was said to show “firm sales” while Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destiny hit its sales targets. The company also noted lower than expected sales for the release of Lost Planet 3, stating this was “due in part to intensifying competition in the European and U.S. markets.” Lost Planet 3 received a 7 out of 10 from Polygon.
a. In the Digital Contents business, the featured title “Monster Hunter 4″ (for Nintendo 3DS) was supported by overwhelming popularity, as mentioned above, and created a huge buzz even comparable to a sort of social phenomenon. Moreover, sales of “Dead Rising 3″ (for Xbox One) that has been geared toward the European and U.S. markets, and “Resident Evil Revelations” (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC) exceeded a million titles each and so three titles have become million-sellers.
b. In addition, “Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen” (for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) showed firm sales while projected sales were basically achieved for “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies” (for Nintendo 3DS).
Furthermore, full-game digital titles, which respond to changes in forms of distribution, contributed to the expansion of sales by growing significantly both at home and overseas in line with the progress in diversification of business models. This included the over-performance of “DuckTales: Remastered” for overseas in addition to the aforementioned “Monster Hunter 4″ showing strong sales.
c. Sales of “Lost Planet 3″ (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC), were below expectations due in part to intensifying competition in the European and U.S. markets.
d. Meanwhile, the online game “Monster Hunter Frontier G” (for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U) performed lower than anticipated, but the browser game “Onimusha Soul” which was distributed in Taiwan with the aim of expanding Capcom’s business fields, garnered a great deal of attention and ranked first in popularity. This thereby marked the beginnings of gaining a foothold in the market for the local corporation, which<br /> was established two years ago.
e. However, mobile contents underperformed as a whole due in part to a lack of major titles and the fiercely competitive environment even though “Monster Hunter Hunting Quest” performed steadily.
f. As a result, net sales were 65,824 million yen (up 3.4% from the previous fiscal year), and operating income was 4,489 million yen (down 36.4% from the previous fiscal year).
So Lost Planet failed as we all knew, the others did well enough. Its not a RE year so profits were not going to be big but they made money so thats good. Duck Tales did great which is nice to see.
