Here's my Black Friday score thanks to Amazon.com (all prices are USD):

Xbox 360

  • The Orange Box $17.95
  • Bioshock  $19.95

Wii

  • Mercury Meltdown Revolution $9.95
  • RE4 Wii Edition $9.95
  • Animal Crossing City Folk W/ Wii Speak Bundle $39.95

Total cost $97.75 (no tax; free shipping)

As you guys know, I already own ACCF, but I didn't get the Wii Speak bundle because I didn't want to spend the extra $20. However, with the bundle now costing only $40 on Amazon, I decided to go ahead and repurchase the game with the bundle, and sell my copy of ACCF on ebay. I figure I'll get about about $35-40 which will make up the cost of buying this bundle, and should leave me with a free Wii Speak Microphone too, woot! Happy

Yeah, it's normally $70 here, but Amazon went crazy or something.

Great deals there. You guys have crazy prices you know. Everything is hugely expensive over here. Didn't you already play bioshock?

I rented it, but the game was too big to finish during my rental period. I think I only made it about a third of the way through. I also intend to replay it to see the second ending.

Woah that's weird I just picked up The Orange Box for the today as well for $18 but it wasn't a Black Friday sale because I'm in Canada and we already had our Thanksgiving. I got it at Wal-mart when I went to pick up Banjo Nuts & Bolts and some more MS points. I had already played through the game but wouldn't mind playing it some plus it was the only copy left and the deal was too sweet to pass up.

Worker trampled to death at Long Island Wal-Mart during Black Friday stampede

Black Friday 2008 Marks 25th Anniversary of the Cabbage Patch Kids Consumer Stampede

Photos

"A worker died after being trampled and a woman miscarried when hundreds of shoppers smashed through the doors of a Long Island Wal-Mart Friday morning, witnesses said"

"Jessica Keyes was among the shoppers. She told the Daily News she saw a woman knocked down just a few feet from the dying worker.
"When the paramedics came, she said 'I'm pregnant,'" Keyes said.
Paramedics treated the woman inside the store and then, according to Keys, told the woman:
"There's nothing we can do. The baby is gone.""

You waited overnight in the cold and trampled a man and baby to death so that you could get a blender for $5. Are you fucking proud of yourself, America? How ironic that the day after you are supposed to think about how thankful you are for what you have, you are willing to go out and kill people in stampedes over materialism. Was it worth it?

Yarcoifn, this is supposed to be a happy thread, and that definately isn't happy news! Sad But your story is another reason why I NEVER go out on Black Friday. I shop via the internet instead. It's much easier and safer that way.

I got Fallout 3 and Boom Blox for a total of $60.  No need to go outside, Amazon does it all.

That story is so sad. But hey thats not America thats crazy psycho shopper people, I am sure every country has them.  What kind of sick human being doesn't stop to help someone up and rather steps on them. All of the people in that line should be sent to jail and sued.

Yeah, it's normally $70 here, but Amazon went crazy or something.

The annoying thing is that the AC bundle with the memory card was just the normal price, so you were basically getting a free memory card.

I was just checking Amazon to see if any of my orders shipped today (they didn't) when I noticed that they now have Okami Wii for $19.95 and No More Heroes for $14.95. I'm very tempted to get both of those games, but I feel like spent more than enough money today. Sad It's damn tempting, though.

For that price I would get both. You guys don't know how lucky you are, games are so expensive over here

I went ahead and ordered Okami, but decided against getting No More Heroes; I'm not convinced I'd like that game. Okami looks like it's right up my alley, though.Happy

My Bioshock/Orange Box order shipped today, yay!  I'm surprised at how quickly Amazon is shipping my stuff out. Usually, they take 2-3 days to ship items using their Free Super Saver Shipping.

Well, that's what I get for sharing my opinions, I guess. WinkWink

Looks like someone is getting happy with the -1's, Foolz. Both of our comments got -1's too!
