(stems from debating vaccinations once she brings up "divine intervention")

Connie says:
Sometimes you have to fight "evil" with "evil" Since you're not calling on "divine intervention" naysayer!

Connie says:
OH, SNAP!

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
that's not an oh snap. thats fail.

Connie says:
Nah, sometimes you have to rationalize the "total picture" and "WIN", or in terms that you might appreciate, "SURVIVE!"

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
I have rationalized the total picture, that's why God doesn't come into it

Connie says:
So, the biggest thing that "controls" your life events is what?

Connie says:
What force is something to be reveered by you?

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
I'm responsible for my own actions. Why should there be something else?

Connie says:
In case you say, get a sore toe, then what?

Connie says:
Do you just lay there and do nothing, or do you try to remedy the problem? Forget "God", passiveness, just won't cut through-anything!

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
What do natural afflictions created by the physical environment have to do with God?

Connie says:
I think, or "believe" everything was created for a reason. From me, to you, to polysporin antiseptic ointment. Remember Horton? "No matter how small something/someone is, it/they still MATTER!" Maybe not to you,but in this universe, some of the smallest atoms have the greatest significance.  The learned person will not dismiss that "possibilities" exist.

Connie says:
I'm just saying, keep an open mind!

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
I keep an open mind to anything logical

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
Everything wasn't created for a reason. In fact, most things weren't. Things are still around for a reason, but they weren't created for one

Connie says:
Not to be brain-washed, but to consider at least that sometimes we cloud the "logic" ourselves by self-assuredly deciding without allowing all the details to present themselves. I'm referring to the more basic term "creation" in it's purest sense.  People are creations of the purest sense, -that is before man started screwing around with his/her own intervention eg. cloning, art. insemmination,

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
Only in the sense of another creature before each one giving birth to the current one

Connie says:
genetic altering.  Don't confuse creating for a genuine purpose with that of "man's creating for reasons other than what they were intended" the science and the medicine are not the core of the problems we have. The mis-management by man IS!

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
Again off-topic and irrelivant

Connie says:
Yes, we, as a race had better have a higher power, or we're screwed! Sometimes all this knowledge, combined with too many egos/ambitions, poorly guided by motives other than "pure" can and do turn out to be disastrous.  That's why it's more a question of taking the total picture into account and not dissect it to your liking.

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
Taking the total picture into account doesn't mean believing fairy tales

Connie says:
Things can and do get off topic in life, as well as this conversation, but doesn't mean they are to be dismissed as irrelevant!

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
It does when you're avoiding things

Connie says:
You can't just "see" what you "want" to see.  Sometimes the truth sucks too, but because it doesn't co-incide with your ideals, doesn't mean that it is a "fairy tale" either.

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
What an ironic statement

Connie says:
Life is so much bigger than you or I, and what's the sense of "surviving" if your not truly trying to do the "living" in the first place?

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
How do you propose a person goes about "living"

Connie says:
I propose a person goes about "living" - with what makes that person "who they want to be". If they want to "live" a life of a drug addict, then hey, that's their choice.  If they however want to "live" to find fulfillment, happiness, and positive emotions that give them a sense of purpose, I suggest they search their "soul", [if in fact they believe they have one], to ask of themself,

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
no soul

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
I can search my brain though

Connie says:
"what do I, personally need to do for myself that will make this "life" in this world I have been placed on, the "most" I can make of it for myself?  Unfortunately, since everyone has their own individual "ideals", no one else can tell them what is "right for them".  That's what so great about being an individual, [and what's not so great], because, in the scheme of things, the only one who can

Connie says:
decide "living" by quantity, quality, or otherwise, is the individual.

Connie says:
I disagree. You are very soulful, just by the way you show strong opinion to everything!

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
Being opinionated doesn't mean I have an invisible spirit inside of me that will continue after I die

Connie says:
No your not just "highly opinionated" either, so stop overanylysing everything!

Connie says:
You have the ability to rationalize, beyond what a book, human being or other source may tell you. It comes from within! The brain holds more than just thought processing centers you know. It's not just about the facts.  Remember, "the total picture"

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
Yes it comes from within your brain....... otherwise please provide evidence that this task is done by a soul, after proving humans have one

Connie says:
8:55pm. hmm guess I had better "think" about going to get your sister now, byee!

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
cya

Connie says:
To be continued.  Do you cry just because you have tear ducts?  . . .

| D u s t i n |  - ٩(̾●̮̮̃̾•̃̾)۶ (͡๏̯͡๏)۶ says:
No, I cry because various external sources produce input which is processed through the brain and signals are sent to the tear ducts to produce tears

"maybe" the "problem" is that "reality" isn't "comforting"

It's pointless to even begin the discussion without defining terms.

Define:
-"total picture" (see: Methodological Naturalism)
-Created (including everything would require natural processes and defeat the purpose of implying a god)
-Reason (a reason for everything begs the question by assuming that there is, would or should be a end-goal.  Or that life is implicitly better than non-life)
-Soul (the colloqial view is of a form of yourself that retains your identity, which doesn't make sense given memory is empirically demonstrated to be associated with the brain)

i.e. the entire conversation is senseless.
