Talk here about the small (and not-so-small) things that rub you the wrong way while posting.

As someone with english as a second language, I know my grammar isn't the best out there. However, I try to learn as much as possible and improve my writing.
Poorly written posts annoy me. Especially from people who dedicate themselves to write for a living.

I dislike profoundly to click on a link on a post, and have the page linked open in the very same window I was reading (not in a different tab, or window, the same window). I don't know why. But I hate it.

Wall-of-text posts bug me. If there are no paragraph breaks, I won't read the post.

Me too.  That's why I always right-click and select "Open in new tab".

Same here.  Paragraphs -- what's wrong with them?

I don't have any other gripes -- mostly because since I only post here I no longer see all-caps posts or people who type like they are texting.

I guess here I get a little discouraged that not more people initiate posts.  I know people have interesting thoughts, so why not post?

Me too.  That's why I always right-click and select "Open in new tab".

SHIFT+click = New tab
SHIFT+click = New tab in the background

I'm the same, I open a lot of things in new tabs.  It's difficult to get it right, though.  For external links I agree, it should open in a new tab (ala GG Weekly stories); however, internal links ought not to as the option to open it in the same tab should exist.  Making external links in posts always open in new tabs is something I need to go back and look at again.

That out of the way, little things.  Well, first on features, I don't like not knowing which page has the last unread comment -- hence the highlighting on the page numbers on our boards.  I plan to make this easier with just a jump-to-latest button.

Oh, and links to comments that just open that one comment and not the page it's on ala neogaf.  Frustrating.

Oh yeah, and perhaps most importantly, I can't stand it when I don't have the option to disable the WYSIWYG editor.  It's necessary for some, but I can write the HTML fast, just let me!

In terms of posts, quoting large images and large posts is a pain, particularly when you're quoting a wall-of-text to address a single sentence.  Aside from wasting space, you're making it harder to follow.

IGA

Nyaa

Seriously joking man.

Your english language skills, written are excellent Steel. Really excellent.

I hate twisters, who try and twist what you say to their own means. It's bullshit and they know it, they're just being annoying. Or people who think that they know how you think and try to spell it out.

This is a new member on our RE site Biohaze. I had to lock this topic cause well there is no topic, its just rambling.

Subject: Jill is a hardcore

Jill well this is the continuation of an already amazing charecter this game just pushed tht farther i mean now she kills nemisis a crazy monster man who only says STTAARRSSSSSSSS in a dark eary voice very kool might i add. She destroys him with a railgun and then to send an ode to the man BARRY BERTON finished him with a magnum making her not only hardcore but also she gains the gift of making amazing Jill snadwiches.

Be thankful of boards like this one.

Wut? LOL

I still think the best post I've ever read is that thread on GS where someone compared Super Mario World to Oblivion.

To sum up how I feel about gaming internet boards, I want to be surrounded by Groovy People. Listen to the song, the lyrics capture what I'm talking about.

Never had a problem with your grammar dude. Always seemed great.

Anyway, what pisses me off the most are the authroritarians - people who know why the shit they don't want to happen is happening, and make up some bogus fucking fact to justify it, and word it in such a way that they make it sound like it's the absolute truth.

Fucking idiots. Almost as bad as the people who post unmarked spoilers. I cannot tell you how close I was to killing someone when I had parts of MGS4's ending spoiled. Admittedly, that's what I got for being on 4chan at the time. But still.

I find myself constantly irritated with grammar nazi's on internet boards.  Typing and spelling errors aren't the worst thing in the world. 9 out of 10 times it doesn't effect the thought/message either so why complain about it?

On the other hand someone who overly relies of abbreviations or other internet speak can go to hell. Anyone who writes "thx" or uses the number 1 in place of the word "one" can go to hell.

And for those for use the phrase, "full of win" please line up so I can kick you in the nuts.

I always though it was "for" the win.  Goes to show how uncool I am.

There's both, but I thought that generally FTW meant for the win, rather than full of wine. Just depends on the context I suppose.
