The trailers have shown you NOTHING. They did an amazing job hiding most of the movie. You have not seen one clip of the final 25 minutes or so.
Ah, okay. Will rent it then.
Did I mention that I saw X-Men the Last Stand First Class? I prefer the team I know better, Wolverine, Cyclops etc.
It was a good movie but IMO Magneto ruined it a bit, or I should say, the actor did. He started off with a British accent, moved between that and Irish and then for the final battle till the end he faked a bad american accent. Just pick an accent already!

You dare critique sir Ian Mckellen. I never had a problem with his Magneto. That movie though was an insult to X-Men fans.

Oh crap, wrong movie
I meant first class.
robio said:As far as Danny Trejo goes he's probably around 5'6" or so. I'm 6'1" and I know I noticed that I was noticeably taller than him.
Hmph, he's a little shorter than me. Has Tom Cruise's height been confirmed yet?
And I kind of liked First Class. Not the best comic mivie but it wasn't bad. Then again I have a thing for January Jones so I'm a bit partial. Then again after I read an interview where she said she ate her placenta after her son was born I'm really not so fascinated by her anymore. Maybe it time to watch it again.

Did you really have to tell me that?

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO TO SLEEP ANYTIME SOON WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!
The Avengers pulled off the impossible, it 100% worked, it is the most epic superhero movie ever made, nothing in live action even comes close. Joss Whedon did what so many directors have failed to do, to make a real comic book movie. Most try to go the "realistic" route or the "it has to be grounded in reality or the audience will lose interest" crap. Every single live action comic book movie has been afraid to go all out, to actually put a comic book on the screen, until now.
This movie has the greatest superhero action ever put on film. It is all out straight up saturday morning cartoon stuff brought to live like never before. Every Avenger has their moment, not one out shines the rest, they are truly a team in every way, well in the end, the movie is about getting them to work together. Iron Man is better than ever in this movie. They actually made Black Widow be super fucking awesome. Hawkeye is so amazing in this movie. Cap and Thor kick ass of course. But the Hulk stands out, I have no clue what went on in those other Hulk movies but this one gets it right, this is THE HULK and he will have you jumping out of your chair.
This is not a movie that will win any awards, don't go in expecting some dramatic masterpiece. In fact there is little to no drama, almost no major character development, hell I never even felt danger in the movie. This is a straight up popcorn film that is there to entertain the hell out of you. When you watched saturday morning cartoons did you watch for any kind of drama, no you watched cause you knew a bad guy was going to do evil shit, the hero is going to get into trouble but in the end you knew the heroes would find a way to overcome adversity and then absolutely kick all kinds of ass and save the day. That is what this movie is.
I want to have a son right now aged to 10 years old just so I can take him to this movie just so that he can shit his pants. This is the greatest Marvel movie of all. I love the X-Men movies, they got the drama and the story right for the most part but they never understood the action. The Spider-Man movies were great but its just Spider-Man, unless they go all out and do a full Sinister Six movie I dont think a Spider-Man movie can match up to this. No its no Batman, but Batman is something different, that is not a superhero movie, that is a crime drama disgused as a superhero movie.
This is the most fun I have had in the theaters in a long time. 2012 is already better than the summer of 2011.
And stay for the credits what they show is FUCKING CRAZY OMG PART 2 IS GOING TO BLOW THIS MOVIE TO PIECES!!!!!
Marvel Studios I love you. Take back every damn franchise, for the love of god get X-Men so we can have Sentinels, Days of the Future Past and a real Phoenix Saga.
Im scared, all of neogaf, even AICN is in love with the movie. But the internet hates everything, what is going on. I guess I have to wait a week or two before a backlash begins.
The Avengers has to be seen in a packed movie theater, without the energy of the crowd I doubt the movie will be the same. I dont care what anyone says, I dont care how amazing your movie setup is, there is no replacement for going to the theater and sharing the experience with a crowd.
Try the TV series now but catch it from the first episode, Iron Man is Born.
Disney XD show the show every day pretty much.

Time to start picking up some old cartoons now if you want that feeling back.
I saw an early screening of Dark Shadows yesterday, the new Johnny Depp movie. Its average at best, dont waste your money on it. Most of the funniest stuff are all in the trailers. There are some good laughs but its kind of sporatic. The problem is that this movie has no focus, it sort of just jumps from storyline to storyline without anything sticking. Depp is awesome and his dialogue is very well written. Eva Green is beautiful and eats up every scene. The rest of the cast does well enough with what little they have to do. The final act is really crazy and cool, it reminded me a bit of Death Becomes Her, it was great to see Burton go crazy gothic special efftects on us again. Its just isn't that good, so pass on it, not that anyone was going to see this.
Definetly seeing this one. Merantau the first film by the same director had pretty weak character exposition too and was a fairly flat movie for me.
How short are we talking?
I want to see this but the trailers seem like they have told us what is going on so wont be scared in the horror bits?
