And Steel have you updated your thread of the GGD yet? Can't wait to hear the bitching!

No. Somebody beat me to it and made a thread on that news.

Oh it was Travo and it sunk in obscurity like most threads about Wii and PC exclusives. Stupid mainstream whores.

I'm sick of making threads there.  They just die within the next ten to twenty minutes.

Here, they last for years. We have sexual staying power.

Did you save the scans to your PC before reading? They're a lot bigger than what is displayed here. I found the text size to be very easy to read.

I'm more hyped for the game than I was before, which was just a notch above non-existent.  I actually like the character designs quite a bit. Retro Mickey rulez! Grinning

Yeah I only checked a few minutes ago, will have to read again. I think the game should be cel-shaded. Some screens look great, but quite a few look like Rayman 3 on GC. Needs better everything. Can you imagine if EAD Tokyo or Retro were making this? It would look far better.

Why are Mickey's eyes so close together?

Really? I think the game looks great.

Because that's how he was originally drawn. Look at the bottom right of the third pic. There's an early drawing of Mickey Mouse by Walt Disney; Mickey's eyes are very close together.

No his eyes are close together because Mom and Dad where also brother and sister.

Mickey looks like those cheap ass 3D cartoons back in the day.

I've spent the last 15 minutes pouring over these images.  I am absolustely in awe.  Most of you are probably aware that I'm a pretty big Disney freak.  I live in Orlando, got my season pass, and I'm there several times a year.  So this whole game is something I'm been amped for, and if these screens are any indication I'm not going to be let down.

It's really cool to see the work that Junction Point put into this.  If you're real familiar with the theme parks you actually look at these scans and see where they took certain pieces from.  So far I can tell you they grabbed a lot from EPCOT.

Plus the retro Disney aspect is something that's long overdue. They really did take Mickey almost back to his original design, which in my book is a great thing.  This version is sort of the 2.0 of Mickey. I'm a little surprised they went with it, since it didn't stick at all, but it's still cool that Spector chose it.

But you want to know what I'm most impressed with?  The fact that Disney really did let this game fly.  It's not nearly as sinister looking as those early pieces of concept art, but it's still a nicely twisted take on the conventional direction that Disney usually goes in.  Spector really did seem to get free reign and just do what he wanted.  It's a good sign that Disney Interactive might actually be taking things seriously and start cranking out some good stuff.

This, I practically grew up in Disney World. We always had the yearly passes, we would go up almost once a month. I love Disney movies, I love Disney characters but to me the rides is what I will always love most about  Disney. So to make a game where you basically play through the rides is a dream come true. Especially a game like this.

I need a 3-D remake of Castle of Illusion.

Or just the original on VC.

You mean Adventures in the Magic Kingdom wasn't good enough for you?

Genesis. It was badass. The SNES one wasn't bad either. I think there were two platformers on the Genesis. World of Illusion wasn't too hot if memory serves.

Ewww! Sad Remakes = evil, especially 3D remakes of classic 2D games.

Now you're talking! I want both the SMS and Genesis versions of Castle of Illusion on VC (two completely different, yet awesome, versions of the same game).

LOVED that game. What a cool mix of gameplay. It also had Disney trivia in it. I think it was a bit short but hard. It should be on the IGN list of 100 NES games.
