Who is Isabale
Isabelle, known as Shizue in Japan, is a fictional character from the Animal Crossing series of video games. She is a kindly Shih Tzu that debuted in the 2012 release Animal Crossing: New Leaf, where she serves as the secretary to the player character. Isabelle has received positive reception, to the point of becoming one of the most prominent characters in the Animal Crossing franchise and its de facto mascot. Her popularity has also led to appearances outside of the Animal Crossing series, including a playable role in the crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Isabelle does virtually nothing in New Horizons. Nook does all the construction. She's been demoted.

I gotta say, I did it last night and it was worth it, but it took me more time. In the 2.5 hours ballpark. Still, much better than hopping between native fruit islands for the same 2.5 hours and getting a pittance for it. I agree with you and approve of the DIY tarantula island.
My wife destroyed an island in the name of profit as well. I think she got only 4 or 6 tarantula's out of it before she called it a day though.
Seems like the change of seasons has nerfed the DIY tarantula islands 
Now giant water bugs can sprout too, and do so abundantly, screwing over all the hard work to get rid of every tree or plant. They sell for 2000 bells each and are much easier to catch, but still, that'll only rake in a quarter of the profit.
