Possible Spoilers here. Possible spoilers here.Yes. There is much more variety in environments and in bosses. The game is also quite stunning to look at . Having gone back to the first one, the environments are quite as destructive as I remembered them. I can't believe they ported LM 1 to the 3DS when it really needs a second analog stick.
There's a thread

It's much better than the first game. As for the second game, I'd say it's about the same, although it looks spectacular. One great thing is that all the rooms use physics with tons of objects flying about and clattering off each other. There are a few rooms which allow you to just destroy everything and its so satisfying to rip up a couch for instance and see it break apart chunk by chunk. The visuals look like you are playing a CGI movie, they look so good close up I wish there were other options than the fixed camera.
The secret gems are great to search for, I wish there were more. There's nothing to really complain about, if you liked any of the previous games you pretty much know what to expect here. Only with better graphics.
One thing I love is the sand, which you can pile up or suck away using your Poltergust and it deforms using physics in real time. So good. I haven't really touched on the multiplayer yet, but it could be quite fun from what I saw. It seems to put in you into a random mansion and then you have a time limit to uncover and kill new ghosts. When you do, you get more time and can move onto the next section.
The Switch is back so I've returned to this game. It looked like I was not even halfway through the campaign. So I made it to the garden area, floor seven, I think. It was your average run of the mill area. That is until I reached the room with the power saw. That was amazing and so satisfying.

Glad to hear that your Switch has returned.
I've put off playing the final level. I don't want it to end. I'll be sad when it does.
The brilliance is how every new floor looks overwhelming at first but all are just a blast to play through. My son finished this tonight while I was driving. I told him not to spoil it for me since I'm still on floor 11.
I did and really enjoyed it though it took me two months to complete it. The last two bosses really ramped up the difficulty.
I'm playing through it now. Not really sure how much I'm liking it. It feels very, very good to be back playing a LM game, but I'm not too fond of the 'floor' level design. Most area's are pretty small, in so much that it often feels more like a boss rush kind of game.
Perhaps. I guess it'll just be impossible for this game to live up to my memories of the original. Perhaps I'll revisit the GC original shortly after completing this game.
Also, Luigi doesn't hum along with the tune anymore.

Stand in the lift.
I think you will be let down when you revist the first game. The second and 3rd are much better.

Yep, I played the first one again and it's definitely a step down. There are so many object that don't even take damage or even move when you use your Poltergust.
Okay, here's the thread.
